Rupert Thorne is a minor antagonist in the 2024 adult animated series Creature Commandos , the first installment of the DC Universe.

He was voiced by Benjamin Byron Davis, who is better known for his role as Dutch van der Linde.

Biography[]

Background[]

His past is unknown. It is assumed he founded his gang in Gotham City and later married to his wife to raised a family of four. He would later get in contact with the government of Bialya.

Deal with Alex Sartorius[]

Thorne agreed to fund Alex Sartorius's experiments for nuclear fusion to find the cure for Cancer, in exchange for having access to the project's findings which he plans to sell the information from the research to the fascist country of Bialya. Once he found out that Sartorius was trying to double-cross him and hide the valuable information about his research. He brutally murdered his family and framed him for his crimes. He later commanded his gang to put Sartorius in his nuclear fusion believing he'll die from the radiation, making it appear as a suicide.

Death[]

Sartorius survives from his nuclear fusion, he vows revenge on Thorne. When he went to his mansion while dining with his family, he was brutally burnt from his face off by Sartourius who now goes by Doctor Phosphorus. He would later go on to kill all of his associates in similar ways and go on to take over his criminal empire.

This is the fourth time Rupert Thorne was adapted in animation, following John Vernon in the DCAU, Victor Brandt in the Matsudaverse, and the 2024 version of Batman: Caped Crusader.
- He was supposedly to be adapted in Tim Burton's film adaption, but was later replaced with the original creation of Carl Grissom.
