Ryota Kawamura is the secondary antagonist in Yakuza Kiwami 2's Majima Saga side storyline. A kind soul who looks up to Majima, he ultimately is forced to betray him due to his massive debts.
He is voiced by Naoto Takeda.
Appearance[]
Kawamura has a very youthful appearance. He's rather pale and has bushy eyebrows, as well as a peach fuzz mustache. He wears a yellow and black sweater with a floral pattern, black dress pants and shoes, and a gold chain. He keeps his hair pushed back and has prominent sideburns.
Personality[]
Despite being incredibly careless, Kawamura is a kind and sociable soul, making close friends with the senior officers of the Majima Family like Nishida and Majima himself. He is terrified and remorseful to those he has affected by his actions, even apologizing before trying to kill Majima.
Biography[]
Kawamura was Sotenbori native who loved Mahjong, and frequently played at the same building as the Hogushi Kaiken massage parlor, which he also was a regular. Despite being a frequent at the Mahjong parlor, he wasn't particularly good and ended up racking up massive amounts of debt. He eventually escapes to Kamurocho, where he joins the Majima Family, but soon is found by Kei Ibuchi, who gives him orders to execute high ranking Tojo officials to clear his debts.
Kawamura picks up Majima from a meeting and drops him off, at which time he left for the Uematsu Family office and killed the patriarch, Akinobu Uematsu. Afraid, he escaped back to Sotenbori, with Majima hot on his tail. As he searches for the young man, Kawamura ends up shooting an Omi Alliance official in a fright and causes a mass evacuation of the Cabaret Grand. Majima hurries to the Grand to confront Kawamura, at which point he discovers that he is responsible for the murder of Uematsu. Kawamura then reveals that to completely wipe his debts, he has to kill Majima, and apologizes before firing at him. Majima then does battle with him, handily beating him. Kawamura apologizes, but is killed by Ibuchi, who knew he wouldn't be able to kill Majima.
Trivia[]
- Kawamura is one of the two boss fights in the Majima Saga, with the other being Ibuchi.
- Kawamura is killed with a bullet to the head, the same way Uematsu was killed and the same way Ibuchi takes his own life.
