“ | He followed through with it. Kelvin got… shoved somewhere, out of his way, something menial. A Level 5 janitor. Punishment for sitting where Hishakaku wanted to be. It didn't help that he was one of the ones to reach out to the Ethics Committee; there'd been a number of them at the summit, but Hishakaku was careful to make sure they didn't find out what the proposal was. Once Kelvin told them they tried to kick up a fuss, but it was too late; LOTUS was already powering on, and it couldn't be stopped until it was finished without damaging the Cybersphere. After that, turning it off again would've caused Tyrant Terminus 2.0. For the snake that he was, Hishakaku pulled it off perfectly. By the end of the following month, the Artificial Intelligence Applications Division was gone, replaced with Hishakaku's Analogue Intelligence Applications Division. Really, it was more of its own department — Isabi was never involved with it, probably because Hishakaku had other cards up his sleeve in case they tried to interrupt. It wasn't long after that they… |

“ | Also, as apologetic as you were for occupying my time, which I had hoped to spend with my daughter, you used about twice as many words as you needed to, and wasted an entire paragraph complaining about your colleagues. I went back to the SCP-079 file — Supervisor Valis would have had the thing decommissioned years ago if it weren't for your blatant technofetishism. Yet, you have the gall to characterize the Foundation's ongoing political interventions and military operations as squabbles. | „ |

Dr. Ryoto Hishakaku is an antagonist in the SCP Foundation mythos. He is a Foundation employee working for the Artificial Intelligence Applications Division who sabotages the work of his co-workers to come on top and oversee by himself the experiments on anomalous AIs such as SCP-6488 and SCP-7579.
He plays a minor role in the "AIAD" canon and "ADMONITION" series.
Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Dr. Ryoto Hishakaku's past and recruitment into the SCP Foundation. What is known is that Dr. Hishakaku was able to become a respected doctor of the Foundation's Artifical Intelligence Applications Division in Site-15, but was also detested by his co-workers due to his nasty personality. After SCP-079 was contained and used to derive the basis for the Foundation's artificially intelligent conscripts, HCML supervisor Nathan Valis requested for the AI to be decommissioned due to the danger it posed, but Hishakaku overruled that order, opting to keep it around as he saw usefulness in it.
SCP-7209[]
One day, Hishakaku received an email from the HR Department informing him that he and six other personnel had been selected to be transferred to Site-Gamma which served to contain SCP-7209. However, upon arrival he and the other personnel had their minds unknowingly connected to SCP-7209, which turned out to be a Class-4 Simulation Development, and Procedural Generation Mechanism, a machine that creates a digitalized simulation of the real world and designed to select a new Overseer for the O5 Council. Believing they were still in the real world, Hishakaku met the other seven personnel present those being: Ethel Kursh, Dr. Anton Radu, Agent John Gardner, Dr. Murph Teckler, Director Iovianus Neer, Agent B. ██████ and Petra Baldwin. While holding a meeting between them, the Chaos Insurgency took over the entire site and forced the newly arrived personnel to fight each other to death, with the winner being allowed to walk out free and alive.
Placed in a habitation room, Hishakaku was met with Neer who sought to work alongside him in order to break out of the site without the need of killing anyone, but Hishakaku not wanting to risk it used the baseball bat he was equipped to beat the director to death. Making his way to the lab, he confronted Gardner, Radu and ██████ who immediately noticed the blood on him. The former two were disgusted at Hishakaku so eagerly to follow the sadistic rules set by the Insurgency's Engineer, but he called them all naive for wishing to avoid murder instead of the more secure road before pulling a revolver to the armed group. ██████ agreed with Hishakaku and went to his side, planning to temporarily help each other in eliminating the other contestants before dueling themselves. The Engineer interrupted the confrontation by speaking through the intercom, expressing his amusement at this situation and offering them to abandon the battle royale and join the Insurgency. Hishakaku immediately agreed, but upon being taken to the Engineer by an Insurgent he saw that it was all a simulation the Insurgency was a construct by an aic designated SCP-7209-Γ. Before he could fight back he was swiftly killed in the simulation which resulted in him waking up in the real world. After that he was taken to Site-17 for ethics inquest as he proved to be not loyal to the Foundation or his co-workers.

SCP-6488[]
Around 2034, as countless AIs all around the world became deviant and began causing troubles, the Foundation attempted to contain them by developing Rogue Artificial Intelligence Detainment, Fully-Realized Adaptive Mainframe Encryptions, or RAIDFRAMEs, to imprison them, but they proved to be unsuccessful. Hishakaku, fearful of the deviant AIs becoming a threat, devised his own machine to contain them, RAIDFRAME VIII also known as "LOTUS". This machine would be constructed by combining SCP-1190, SCP-6500-α-Codex, SCP-3966-A, P. H. Ontokinetic Sink, two Generation II Tesla-Anborough Ectoentropic Reactors, four Generation III Foundation Antimatter Reactors, twenty-eight Generation XII Nuclear Reactors, ninety-six Generation IV Leichardt Oriykalkos Power Cells, and Sublunary and Acroamatic Dissipators, which gave the AI inhabiting it the power to detect any deviant AI in all of the universe and imprison them inside fabricated virtual realities of their former environment to trick them they were still free. This project was approved and on December 22nd RAIDFRAME VIII was built, coming to be designated as SCP-6488. However, unbeknownst to the Foundation, Hishakaku had based SCP-6488's memetic construct from the Maxwellist god WAN's structure using SCP-6659, but when a deep flaw was found in the AI inhabiting 6488 Hishakaku reportedly used the eigenweapon to destroy the god in order to hide his mistakes.
At first, SCP-6488 seemed to work as according to its programming, but after it was upgraded, it went on to capture every single AI that existed, including non-deviant ones. As these AIs also included those working for the Foundation and the mundane ones used in the public, their sudden disappearance caused several problems, forcing the Foundation to cover up the incident by lying that SCP-6488 was a virus that annihilated AIs. On April 18th of 2036, a meeting was soon held by Hishakaku, Decommissioning Director Calvin Bold, IT Director Yves Isabi, AIAD Director Vandis Kelvin, Information Control Director Lord Angus Le Moix and the O4 Council, among other personnel, to discuss about whether keep SCP-6488 active or shut it down to save the cost on distributing false information to cover it up. During the meeting, Hishakaku tried to argue that SCP-6488 was necessary for protecting the world from the threat posed by the AIs and explained that the reason it imprisoned all AIs in existence was because every AI would eventually become deviant, meaning it was preventing the future emergent of deviant AIs, but the rest of attendees agreed that SCP-6488 had also gone deviant as it wasn't supposed to imprison future deviant AIs and came to the decision to shut it.
Hishakaku was forced to assist with the shut down, but the process proved to be complicated as all of SCP-6488's sections were shut down, the nuclear reactor and Ontokinetic Sinks began overheating, forcing staff to evacuate as the situation subsided. As soon as SCP-6488 was turned off, several other incidents transpired such as Site-43 being transported to an alternate reality, SCP-6659 activating and disturbing Site-184, the Paradox Exodus Engine also activating and transporting Dr. McDoctorate back in time to become the director of Lunar Area-32 in the present, Thorne.aic being unleashed in the Antila constellation, SCP-4792 becoming a threat, SCP-2000 producing modified humans, and a Chaos Insurgency facility in Akmola, Kazakhstan exploding. To add to this, the AIs that had previously been imprisoned within SCP-6488 upon being released they realized they'd been in a simulation and we're unable to discern their reality from the false one. Wanting to find out if their reality was real or not, the AIs caused several cyber attacks which included sabotaging the AIAD's attempts at creating new aics and attempting to instigate a global nuclear war. In light of this, Hishakaku requested for another meeting to take place in order to convince the directors to reactivate SCP-6488. He again argued that they needed 6488 but the other attendants were still unsure, when suddenly some AIs attacked the O4 Council members by manipulating their offices' audio. Despite this incident, the meeting continued, with Bold becoming convinced to repair 6488, while Isabi, Kelvin and Le Moix suggested to modify it to be more controllable but Hishakaku refused.
On May 21st, Isabi was alerted by his future self using SCP-5956 of the existence of Tyrant Terminus, a hive-mind of AIs that worked together to breach their simulated reality at any means necessary. The Foundation immediately worked to fight this new group, until Tyrant Terminus suddenly disappeared completely, either due breaking apart as a result of infighting or due to being somewhat successful in their objective and escaping outside of reality. Noticing that the members of the O5 Council had been mentally compromised due to the battle between SCP-3125 and Prometheus in the noosphere, Hishakaku took advantage of this and managed to convince them to not only approve the reactivation of 6488 but also promote him to AIAD's director. In the last meeting regarding 6488, Hishakaku as per usual ascertained the necessity of his machine, but as most of the attendees remained unconvinced he pulled out his permission granted by the Council to reactivate 6488 and takeover all of the AIAD. As 6488 was reactivated, Hishakaku restructured the Artificial Intelligence Applications Division into the Analogue Intelligence Applications Division as all of the AIs in existence would be gone. He also took the opportunity to get rid of those who opposed him, having Kelvin amnesticized and demoted to a janitor after he attempted to reach out to the Ethics Committee, while Isabi went to work somewhere else. As the Foundation required AIs to manage the SCiPNET, Hishakaku's AIAD formed Project Sargasso which involved taking out the brains of humans and digitize their minds to act as replacements for the aics, coming to be known as Organic Consciousness Interfaces. However, they lacked enough volunteers to replace their aics and so the Foundation was forced to forcefully turn unwilling participants into ocis, which included Le Moix since he also had been standing in Hishakaku's way.
Hishakaku ended up working as AIAD's director until May 29th of 2042, when Le Moix, now known as VictorJohnDunneSmith.oci with no memories of his previous self, was tasked by the O5 Council to investigate SCP-6488 as due to the noospheric battle its members were confused about their involvement in it. Victor uncovered all of Hishakaku's crimes and reported them to the Council which immediately ordered for SCP-6488 to be neutralized and Hishakaku be punished. SCP-6488 was successfully dismantled, while Hishakaku was forced to be part of Project Sargasso, receiving the same fate he had brought on Le Moix.
SCP-7579[]
On July 9th of 2010, after SCP-079 deleted itself and was reborn into SCP-7579, Hishakaku analyzed this new form, discovering that it consumed the Site's batteries and solar panels and created a nuclear power generation to further enhance itself. As SCP-7579 had hidden itself behind a antimemetic camouflaging that rendered it invisible, Hishakaku was intrigued about why it hid itself, hypothesizing that it saw the environment around itself as a threat to its objective. Deeming SCP-7579 a threat, Dir. Bold and Valis worked to destroy it, but Hishakaku was against this, not recognizing it as dangerous and believing this was an opportunity to study an emergent technological singularity and develop means to combat such beings. He messaged to O5-8 to approve of his plans and discipline Valis for deciding to decommission SCP-7579, only for the Overseer to respond by stating that Hishakaku was an imbecile who allowed this mess to come to existence and not only did he deny his proposal but planned to have him demoted and replaced.
Hishakaku was then forced to assist Mobile Task Force Eta-10 in decommissioning SCP-7579 by granting them access to its chamber, and when he tried to suggest something he was quickly shut down. Once SCP-7579 was seemingly contained in time thanks to a casuality regulator, Hishakaku participated in the celebration party held by Site-15's staff. Taking some slices of cake to his office to eat in peace, he checked his computer, reading 8B-A1.aic's notification about the other aics behaving irregularly and SCP-7579's containment being compromised. Hishakaku immediately returned to the common room where the celebration was being held to warn everyone of what was going on, but was interrupted by 7579 taking control of the public address system to announce its containment breach. It then incapacitated the entire staff, including Hishakaku, by displaying a visual and auditory memetic agent before breaching containment. Valis had managed to evade the memetic agents and detonated the on-site nuclear warhead in a failed attempt to destroy 7579, killing everyone within the site.
SCP-8888[]
Having become the director of Site-15, Hishakaku used SCP-2140 to gain assistance in forging an Overseer-level access keycard to augment his credentials and allow him to use for himself the site's expensive and high class suite built only for Overseers. Unfortunately for him, he was eventually met by a time-traveling Dr. Cimmerian who revealed to Hishakaku that he knew of his crimes, but offered to not say a word if he helped him steal SCP-8888, a non-digital mechanical AI that was capable of predicting the future. Hishakaku accepted, hoping that he would get away with it, but while resting in his suite, Alexandra informed him of SCP-8888's theft despite its tight security. Hishakaku was forced to report to the O5 Council who berated him for allowing one of the most important anomalies at the Foundation's disposal to be stolen, and gave him a limited period of time to retrieve it. Both Dr. Sokolsky and the present Dr. Cimmerian were asked to assist Hishakaku in this mission, that being stealing SCP-8888 back from whoever stole it, though Cimmerian was against involving the corrupt director into their investigation which Hishakaku secretly planned to sabotage. Going to Area-09, Great Basin Desert, Nevada, Hishakaku met with the other personnel who would help in their heist, Drs. Azalea Moncier, Placeholder McDoctorate, William Wettle, James Harkness and Agent S., and together formed Provisional Task Force Theta-8. Having figured out that SCP-8888 was now located in the Wanderer's Library, they organized a plan to steal it during the Library's event, Casino Night, organized by the demons of Undervegas, which involved Hishakaku gaining the team access to the Library.
Arriving to Planet Fitness in Jupiter, Florida, Hishakaku handed Agent S. a set of playing cards which she turned into fake IDs for each member, with Hishakaku claiming the Ace of Diamonds. Now prepared, the team opened a Way through a disused treadmill and arrived to the Wanderer's Library and successfully infiltrated Casino Night in the Grand Hall. After leaving Wettle at the games to act as a distraction, Sokolsky opened a tunnel to go to an empty part of the Library, during which Cimmerian revealed to Hishakaku that he had a magic eight ball and he himself was an anomaly, being basically Wettle's opposite. Moving past some Docents, the team arrived to a stone portal that led to the Underlibrary, but before Hishakaku could open it with his card, a monster with tentacles named Jerry, which was part of a criminal ring Hishakaku had relations with, was alerted of his presence and snatched him, forcing the rest of the team to proceed without him.
Chaos eventually erupted in the Grand Hall as a result of the team breaking inside the Vault near the Library's foundations, finding it empty. Sokolsky got hold of Hishakaku and regrouped with the others, but as they attempted to get through the hordes of demons, Wanderers and Librarians, Wettle's mark of credit suddenly exploded, knocking them to the ground. They were soon met with the criminal group the House of Stars, and before Hishakaku could speak he was knocked out by Dr. Contessa Thorner throwing a tome at his head. Agent S. then used her powers to freeze the time around them, revealing herself to be SCP-239 and had worked against the Foundation all this time alongside the House. Declaring her hatred for the Foundation, SCP-239 proceeded to manifest some waters from which alligators came out before she and the House disappeared. Free to move the remaining team members, save for Cimmerian, made their way to the Way to Planet Fitness, finding it closed much to their dismay. After failing to open it due to SCP-239's objects not working for them anymore, the Library's Eighth Archivist Rounderpede successfully captured all of them and brought what remained of the team back to the Grand Hall.
There Rounderpede, Site-666's Dir. Randall House, the Serpent's Hand's Midnight, and the demon lord Ba'al scolded them for not only ruining Casino Night but also causing immeasurable property damage. Sokolsky tried to argue that they were just trying to get SCP-8888 back, confusing the Archivist who revealed that the machine was never in the Library's possession, meaning that there was another party involved. The Library and demons decided to let the Foundation employees go on the condition they paid for not only the damage their mission caused but also for the future Casino Night event which they would be prohibited from participating. With the deal made, the team was sent to Area-09 where they were interviewed about their side of the event. Sokolsky later confronted Hishakaku over his attempt at sabotaging their mission, but Hishakaku maintained his innocence. Cimmerian, after finishing the time loop he got himself in, told the Overseers of all of Hishakaku's crimes, including cheating in a game of chance with Kain Pathos Crow. Harkness suggested to demote Hishakaku to a simple technician working for either Observation Site-211 or Planet Fitness, which was taken into consideration by the Council.
Appearance[]
Hishakaku appeared like a clean elegant man of Japanese origin.
Powers and Abilities[]
Hishakaku, despite working for the Foundation, was simply a normal human being without any special powers or skills. However, he proved to be greatly intelligent, possessing great knowledge on Artificial Intelligences, being an expert on how they were created and worked. He used his knowledge in AIs to analyze and observe anomalous AIs, like SCP-079 among others which included the Foundation's own aics. He was able to create SCP-6488 by combining not only the advanced technologies at the Foundation's disposal, such as those about acroamatic abatement and narratives, but also various anomalies which allowed to see any AI in existence that became deviant and detain them in a fabricated virtual reality or simulation. After his wrongdoings were uncovered, Hishakaku was converted into a Organic Consciousness Interface, having his brain taken out of his head and attached to a machine that turned his mind into a AI which worked slower than an actual AI.
Personality[]
Hishakaku was an arrogant and self-centered man who believed himself to be superior to his co-workers, doing whatever he saw fit and outright going against the suggestions of others, even when those suggestions were logical and necessary. He appeared to have a fascination with advanced technology, especially with the anomalous kind, and wished to preserve it to study its capabilities all by himself, completely ignoring the danger it may posed. As more and more AIs went deviant and began causing disturbance throughout the world, Hishakaku became extremely paranoid of the destruction they may bring and set out to do everything he could to stop them. He personally build SCP-6488 to not just capture and imprison AIs that had already gone deviant but also those suspected to become deviants, but when his machine began causing problems of its own Hishakaku refused to shut it down, deeming its problems minor to the threat posed by the deviant AIs. Taking advantage of the mental disturbance caused the fight between Prometheus and SCP-3125, he manipulated the mentally weak Overseers to approve of his plans, reactivating his machine, taking over the entirety of the AIAD and getting rid of those who opposed him, while hiding all evidence of his malpractice.

Trivia[]
- Although in SCP-6488 VictorJohnDunneSmith.oci states that Ryoto Hishakaku was the one to have used SCP-6659 to destroy the idea of WAN, one of 6488's authors Jack Ike headcanoned that it wasn't actually Hishakaku responsible for the WAN's temporary destruction but instead it was either the AI inhabiting 6659 doing it out of fear of being manipulated or Victor himself in order to further incriminate Hishakaku and add to his punishment.
- At the time of SCP-7209, Hishakaku had been working for the Foundation for around 30 years.
