Dr. Hughes: Okay, I'm going to need to ask you some questions about number 55 now.
Personnel: Number what?
Dr. Hughes: SCP object 55. The object you just examined.
Personnel: Um, I don't know what you're talking about. I don't think we have a 55.
Dr. Hughes: Okay, then, [...] I'd like you to tell me what you've been doing for the past two hours.
Personnel: What? I… (subject appears uncomfortable) … I don't know.
Dr. Hughes: Okay, then, do you remember that we all agreed that it wasn't spherical?
Personnel: That what wasn't… Oh! Right! It isn't round at all! Object 55 isn't round!
Dr. Hughes: So you remember it now?
Personnel: Well, no. I mean, I don't know what it is, but I know there is one. It's something you can't remember. And it's not a sphere.
Dr. Hughes: Wait a minute. What's not a sphere?
Personnel: Object 55.
Dr. Hughes: Object what?
Personnel: Doc, do you remember agreeing that something wasn't shaped like a sphere?
Dr. Hughes: Oh, right!
~ The interview between Dr. Hughes and a Foundation personnel, about SCP-055, while its nature started to take effect

SCP-055, also known as [unknown], is a Keter-class SCP Object contained by SCP Foundation and is one of the most mysterious objects in containment. Its overall physical appearance is unknown beyond it's not a sphere, because of its effect on the mind and memory of human.

Overview

Thus far, nearly all of the information surrounding SCP-055's physical appearance or origin story remain mysterious, nor anything behind its past or how it was contained. Personnel can enter its containment chamber and observe it. They can also draw, write, and even record its descriptions while in its containment chamber.

However, after such observations, any information about SCP-055 will be forgotten by anyone, and the materials will be rendered useless since people will forget whatever it's about. Any individual that attempts to describe SCP-055 after observation will suffer from loss of memory and will to describe, whilst the appearance of any photos or sketches about SCP-055, including their copies, would be forgotten by the participants regarding whatever they looked like.

The only information about such object they can "leak" is that SCP-055 is not spherical, but curiously, they will forget about it immediately after such description, until they are reminded by someone else that they had just described something that is not a sphere. While not acting physically hostile thus far, there is a possibility that SCP-055 has the capability to cause physical harm and indeed had killed countess personnel through its effects.

In other appearances

SCP - Containment Breach

SCP-055 did not make an appearance in SCP - Containment Breach, but it was referred by the ending screen checklist, which contained a "Recontained SCP-055" task.

SCP - Containment Breach (Unity Edition)

SCP-055 is planned to be added in future versions of Unity's of SCP - Containment Breach remake in an unknown way of showcase.

Trivia

  • They once cross-tested 055 with 682. Afterwards, both were unharmed.
