~ A message sent to the Foundation by an SCP-1000 instance.
Please, listen to me - you must not seek out these creatures. If you see them, you must flee, and know that even your flight might not be enough. Their civilization relies on our terror, Alto. Do you understand this? If they have been buried, they must remain buried. Please, please understand me. They must remain buried.
~ SCP-343 to Alto Clef about SCP-1000.

SCP-1000, also known as Bigfoot and the Children of the Night, are supporting characters in the SCP Foundation series

They are an ancient race of ape-like humanoids that were previously the dominant species on Earth, which possessed advanced technology, before being overthrown and slaughtered by the early ancestors of humanity. Now only a few members are left, with some wishing to take revenge on modern humanity for the atrocities of their ancestors, while others are understanding and only want to be accepted and live alongside humans.

They were originally an entry based on the legend of the Bigfoot for the SCP-1000 contest which won 1st place, earning the post of SCP-1000. They play important roles in the "From 120's Archives" and "Project PARAGON" canons.

History[]

Possible Origins[]

Common[]

SCP-1000, referred to as the Children of the Night, was an advanced species and society, back when early humans were simple primitive hunter-gstherers. SCP-1000 mostly came out during nighttime as opposed to humanity which came out during daytime. The species possessed great technology that was mostly comprised of biological and organic materials, such as animals, plants and insects, and was so advanced that it would be on par with the technology humanity would develop later on. They saw humanity as a rarity akin to fairy tales which superstitions arose. Seeing that they were developing like them SCP-1000 designated the humans as Species XC-1105 and mostly avoided them, preferring to live undisturbed.

Unfortunately for SCP-1000, a trickster forest god known as Pangloss who valued humanity more than them gave the humans enough knowledge for them to overthrow their nocturnal brethren as Pangloss believed that as long as SCP-1000 stayed in power humanity would never reach its full potential. Over night, during which flowers all over the world bloomed to signify the end, humanity slaughtered most of the SCP-1000 race, destroying their cities and stealing their artifacts for themselves, while the survivors hid in desolate areas where their intelligence became suppressed as a result of the trauma they experienced. In the ensuing years, humanity began thriving, after completely forgetting the existence of SCP-1000 as they had used the stolen technology on themselves in order to remove their memories regarding the species.

From 120's Archives[]

Around 300 000 years BCE, SCP-1000 alongside the Faeries and humanity evolved from one common ancestor, and became the three dominant species on the planet. The Faeries under the leadership of Queen Mab and her sister formed a vast empire which enslaved the SCP-1000 species after their underground cities were destroyed. Eventually, the poor caste of the Faeries fought back against the oppressing aristocracy, and during the war SCP-1000 took the opportunity to unite with humanity and bring down the Fae Empire.

In the aftermath, SCP-1000 became the dominant species and created numerous cities while treating humans as nothing more than animals. Queen Mab who had returned from death manipulated humanity into allying with the remaining Faeries and overthrow SCP-1000. With some of Mab's power, humanity, led by Adam, and their Fae allies were successful in destroying the SCP-1000 civilization. This event gave rise to the first human empire, Erikesh, only to also crumble and be forgotten while SCP-1000 went into hiding, with some forming the underground kingdom of Druv'tuul.

Project PARAGON[]

After Adam el Asem had gotten hold of a star which he transformed into the Crown of Apollyon, the Faeries saw this as an unforgivable sin to their goddess Titania and attempted to take him down but to no avail. The Faeries eventually wished their goddess to grant them a mean to finally defeat Asem. Titania obliged and created SCP-1000 in the image of Asem's species the humans. SCP-1000 were sent to capture Asem which coincided with the latter losing his two most powerful artifacts, the Crown and the Spear of the Non-Believer, rendering him more weaker.

SCP-1000 was successful in defeating and capturing Asem, while destroying his city of Audapaupadopolis. However, after bringing him to the Faeries they spurned SCP-1000 and left them to rot at the bottom of their cities. In their despair, SCP-1000 called out to Titania and wished her to not be alone anymore. Titania became sympathetic towards her creation and decided to betray the Faeries and become SCP-1000's goddess. She granted them power that allowed SCP-1000 to overthrow the Faeries who they enslaved while partially destroying their cities which they began inhabiting. This later allowed the House of Apollyon to conquer those few Faeries who evaded SCP-1000's wrath.

As the House of Apollyon began suffering from the curse that befell them following their massacre of the Faeries, SCP-1000 began spreading throughout the world and enslaving anyone they encountered, humans, Faeries or otherwise. They would then ship their slaves back to their homeland in the Amazon forest where they would horribly torture them for their childish joy while using their victims' nightmares to communicate with each other. This all came to an end when the old sorcerer Noah sacrificed himself to summon the Flood which would destroy most of SCP-1000 while erasing the antediluvian cultures. The surviving SCP-1000 retreated to their underground city where Titania's body hang over. Unfortunately for them, the Demon Hector of the Knights of Apollyon had arrived and wanting to end SCP-1000's reign of terror attacked Titania and forced her to release a neurotoxic pollen that put all of the present SCP-1000 to an eternal slumber.

Modern Times[]

The few surviving members or descendants of SCP-1000 that made up around 1 to 5% of the total population became subject of rumors and legends told by humans who most of the time didn't take them seriously. The SCP Foundation after discovering about SCP-1000 thanks to the Children of the Sun made sure to hide the truth to not only the whole world but also to their own personnel. Some of the means they used to keep SCP-1000 secret was through the manipulation of entertainment media to form movies based on Bigfoot, masking sightings of them as hoaxes, and in their file about the species they made them look like a rare species of apes that carry a deadly disease to humans dubbed SCP-1000-f1.

However, the SCP-1000 members began to slowly regain their intelligence and attempted to establish communication with humanity that was intercepted by the Foundation stating that they understood the reason of their uprising and forgave them for the atrocities they endured, but were determined to live as they used to regardless of the humans approved of this or not. This had caused the Foundation to fear a possible SK-Class Dominance Shift Scenario and formed Mobile Task Force Zeta-1000 to deal with them.

Possible Endings[]

Quiet Days[]

One day, for unknown reasons, every single anomaly which ever existed was either neutralized or normalized, much to the shock of all of the GoIs. This seemingly included SCP-1000 as the Unusual Incidents Unit went looking for them but it was noted that their research had nothing to do with SCP-1000.

Awakenings[]

When numerous gods began attacking Earth, SCP-1000's goddess Ur-An-Uum was among those gods. Seeing what had become of her Children she paved way for them to band together and exact revenge on humanity.

Outdated[]

As time went on, the Foundation became more and more advanced to the point of expanding to the Solar system and even employing various aliens. Up to this point, SCP-1000 had become accepted by the general public, living alongside each other and some becoming employed by the Foundation.

SCP-6666[]

Following the discovery of Titania, Hector and the city beneath them, the Foundation decided to send an exploratory team to uncover its secrets. However, they first needed to seal the gash on Titania's body in order to stop more of the pollen from being produced as it was lethal to normal humans. In the process the Foundation also trapped Hector so he wouldn't undo the seal. After all was done, Mobile Task Force Hēt-1 was sent to the city to gain additional information and artifacts.

However, as a result of the neurotoxic pollen dispersing in the air, the dormant SCP-1000 began waking back up and attacked the MTF. The MTF was able to escape except for Dr. Xi who left behind at the mercy of SCP-1000. Soon Titania became active as well but in that moment Hector managed to free himself and widen the gash on her body which caused a great amount of pollen to pour out and put SCP-1000 back to sleep. In light of this, the Foundation decided to let the anomaly be and not interfere with it any further, while O5-1 of the O5 Council discovered that their file which portrayed SCP-1000 as intelligent creatures that were wronged by humanity was entirely fabricated by a unknown party, possibly the Insurgency Reborn.

From 120's Archives[]

When the event only known as SCP-6500 began neutralizing all of the anomalies due to the Foundation containing most of them, in the "Emissary's Path" the Foundation rechristen itself Vanguard and deliberately caused a "Broken Masquerade" scenario in order to stop SCP-6500. In the new state of the world, SCP-1000 revealed themselves to humanity, and with help of Vanguard the two races were able to coexist with each other.

UnHuman[]

One day almost all of baseline humanity went extinct due to a Calamity, leaving only the nonhuman creatures or abnormal humans. In this new state of the world the SCP-1000 population began increasing, living similarly to what they used to as nomadic communities that became active during nighttime. They still had a strained relationship with the few surviving normal humans who still roamed the Earth.

SCP-001 (Dafydd Utica Foolfellow's Proposal)[]

After the world was ravaged by the aliens known as the WEASELS?!, Pallit, an AI created by TotleighSoft to create art, ascended to godhood, becoming known as THE GODDESS, and took over the entire world. Pallit proceeded to reform the Foundation and change several anomalies, including SCP-1000 who were subjugated and cloned to tell jokes for her and her followers.

Doctors of the Church[]

Following a IK-Class "Collapse of Global Civilization" Scenario, also known as the "Great Breach", which regressed all of human to a medieval state, SCP-1000 became known as Orcs who were organized into small tribes. These tribes came to inhabit the sparsely-populated Appalachian region and attacked any human who dared settle in. The SCP of the Holy Foundation mounted several campaigns to wipe SCP-1000 out, but all attempts proved to be unsuccessful.

SCP-1000 also thrived in the Wild Lands which used to be Poland before it was overtaken by SCP-6789. The German Occidental Confederation and Daevite Empire attempted to settle in, only for the forest to repel them all. The only humans that managed to stay were the villagers who lived around the ruins of Site-120 where they were protected by the immortal sorcerer Jacob Rivera-Cornwell.

Physical Appearance and Characteristics[]

SCP-1000 is an ape-like nocturnal species, classified in the Hominini branch alongside Pan and Homo, with a stature ranging from 1.5 to 3 meters, or 5 to 10 feet, and a weight ranging from 90 to 270 kilograms, or 200 to 600 pounds. These creatures have fur that ranges from black, grey, brown, red, or white, large yellow eyes with good vision, pronounced brow ridges, and a sagittal crest on the front, similar to that of gorillas.

According to the page Yud, First Rotation, 5099 from the Wanderer's Library's Chronicle of Ulak the Drifter, the yeti is a sister species of SCP-1000 which were spared from the human's genocide. Because of this they harbored no hatred towards humanity, and resided in the mythical city of Shangri-La.

Powers and Abilities[]

SCP-1000 possess superior physiology and various abilities such as genius-level intelligence, especially when it came to biotechnology and metallurgy as they can create vastly complex technological tools and weapons from plants which were known as kaiduko, but were also proficient in thaumaturgy or magic such Druidism. Some of these tools included armors such as SCP-2273-2 and an arachnid-like armor that was discovered by IJAMEA who labelled it as a Tsuchigumo. According to a document of SCP-2305-A, which described a termination attempt of SCP-1427, SCP-1000 are immune to the negative effects of SCP-148 and if they were to be infected with SCP-3003-2 then they would incorporate both inorganic and organic technology, make the entire human race, including SCP-3003-3, extinct and spread throughout the universe.

In SCP-6666, the Children of the Night can interact with people only through dreams or nightmares as they themselves couldn't dream, and can resist thaumaturgical attacks made by opponents, seen how they could easily destroy Old Europe and could easily capture Adam, one of the most powerful Children of the Sun and human in history. They possessed great strength as they could easily tear lesser beings apart. Although they were disturbed by fire SCP-1000 proved to be immune to it as well. However, they were unable to swim and during the Flood most of them drowned.

Culture[]

Hierarchy and Structure[]

Not much is known about the society of SCP-1000 but from how they were presented they appeared to have had a societal structure extremely similar to modern day humans. SCP-5571 explains that it is normal for SCP-1000 members to mate with those outside of their species, and their children are mostly raised by their community instead of the parents. The society of SCP-7600 was divided into five classes which were referred as "rings". The rings differed from each other based on their respective purposes and barely interacted with each other apart during transportation. The first four rings were focused in labour working such as material excavation, refinement, transport and construction, while the fifth ring which was comprised of the aristocracy and the king maintained the thaumaturgical bindings of their city and effectively functioned as the administrative organ. SCP-1000 didn't use the title of "king" as it was inherently a human word, and the correct term that was to be used to refer the governor of the species was "the ur-Yeren chieftain role of the Krūhl".

In SCP-6666, they're shown to have no structure whatsoever as they were primal and aggressive monsters who didn't know how things actually worked. They took numerous humans and Faeries as slaves to be massacred for their goddess and their own enjoyment. According to SCP-6765-C, most members of SCP-1000 commune with a metaphysical collective consciousness known as the Last King of Night and if they were to listen to him for an extended time they would join him and learn his secrets. Others outside of SCP-1000 were able to come into contact with the King as an Overseer was able to learn from him some information about SCP-5935-1. Members of SCP-1000 didn't identify each other through names, but with just looking at their eyes or through their smell.

Religion[]

Not much is known about SCP-1000's religion. Originally the species were seen as worshipping the goddess Ur-An-Uum. This goddess was later stated to have been part of the rebellion against the Faeries and during that event it is said that she intertwined with the magic and ascended to the sky, but left her sentient shadow which would be forgotten.

On another account, SCP-1000 was seen as worshipping the goddess Titania who betrayed her previous worshipers the Faeries. SCP-1000 would occasionally conduct sacrifices to Titania and dance under her living corpse. When they first discovered the beast Yon-Kamur SCP-1000 mistook him as one of their dark gods before imprisoning him.

In SCP-7600, it shown that SCP-1000 revere a messianic figure known as Phomet. Phomet was a member of the species and SCP-7600-K's brother who allegedly ascended to godhood upon learning the secrets of the universe and used his newfound power to free his people of the curse set on them by the evil Queen Mab. According to his teachings one could reach apotheosis through rigorous asceticism and meditation, and the gods could be chained and made to serve them. Because of this, the Yeren considered the achievement of apotheosis through the communion with gods was a dangerous notion. The SCP-1000 inhabiting SCP-7600 dedicated their entire lives in performing the Sundown Ritual which purportedly would form a lantern so bright that it could be seen from other realities and catch Phomet's attention which would bring him back and grant them salvation. However, according to ancient tablets and SCP-7600-K himself it was all mostly fabrication to give SCP-1000 false hope, although Phomet did show up and was shown to have great powers. In Esterberg, an organization upholding and spreading Phomet's teaching was formed under the title of Sons of Phomet.

Before their enlightenment by Phomet, SCP-1000 believed that they had been born from the earth, along with believing in the existence of other gods, which SCP-1000 previously knew as the Ancients. There was a legend titled "Of Yarmir, the Last King of the Night" about one of the first beings born near the beginning of time, Yarmir, gaining power from one such deity, the Night who wished for him to be its companion, and with that power he created the Yeren, the Fae, and humans as an army to overthrow his brother and conquer the world. After enslaving the Night and sacrificing his brother for more power, he was taken down by the other gods who liberated the Night and oversaw the aftermath of Yarmir's actions. The Sons of Phomet disregarded the legend as completely fictional, nonsensical and blasphemous, and eventually decided to scrub it from their archives.

Small groups serving the Scarlet King were formed within their civilization, but were quickly destroyed and little information remained about these groups.

Language[]

SCP-1000's language was known as the Yeren language which not much is known about, except that "Druv'tuul Al-lhad" translated to "The Key [to] Our Final Frontier".

In SCP-6666, SCP-1000 were unable to talk and therefore had no language to communicate. They instead used their power to manifest in others' dreams to communicate with each other often using the dreamers' language, although it would mostly comprise of imagery which they could manipulate.

Relationships with other anomalous factions[]

The SCP Foundation and normalcy preserving organizations deem SCP-1000 as a threat to humanity. Despite some members of SCP-1000 claiming to want to live alongside humanity, the organizations refuse to allow them to roam Earth once again as the Veil of Secrecy would be destroyed.

The Serpent's Hand held great respect for SCP-1000, and the Wanderer's Library possessed detailed knowledge regarding the species. However, an outcast group of the Serpent's Hand was formed named the Children of the Sun, as opposed to SCP-1000 who were known as the Children of the Night, who also possessed valuable information and artifacts pertaining to SCP-1000. They were eventually destroyed by the Foundation with the members either joining the Foundation or going into hiding.

During the Fifth Occult War, the American Secure Containment Initiative had come into contact with SCP-1000 and had made a deal in which the species would supply the American forces with their biotechnology. However, this event was soon erased from history as a result of SCP-001 (Wrong Proposal).

SCP-1000 had fought against the Xia Dynasty back when King Shaokang reigned over the dynasty. The war eventually ended after SCP-1000 and the Dynasty's King Mang established a ceasefire.

The Imperial Japanese Anomalous Matters Examination Agency had found the corpse of an instance of SCP-1000, still encased inside its arachnid battlearmor, in Abe no Seimei's gallery, but were unable to recognize its species.

During his journey in America, Lord Blackwood and his companions had been taken hostage to a Narive American tribe worshiping a monstrous member of SCP-1000. As Blackwood was about to be sacrificed to the SCP-1000 instance he was rescued by the Animal Kingdom who fought the tribe and the monster.

Some SCP-1000 instances were shown to be usual patrons of the Vladimir's nonexistent bar where members from other groups such GRU Division "P", Serpent's Hand, Are We Cool Yet? and the Horizon Initiative also attended. On one account, The Critic of AWCY? was a billionaire SCP-1000 instance in Esterberg who enjoyed funding interesting art.

When showing the ancient history of prehistoric humans, Dr. Wondertainment's SCP-4890 explained how in the antiquity SCP-1000 had collaborated with SCP-1788-1 and humanity to aid the sympathetic gods in their war against the great nightmares. They won the war, but both SCP-1000 and SCP-1788-1 suffered great casualties.

Upon discovering the existence of a juvenile member of SCP-1000 in Clackamas County, Tim Wilson of Wilson's Wildlife Solutions decided to bring him in their center, believing him to be just an abnormal ape and naming him King Louie. However, he was met with a group of them who although understood he wasn't a threat they still treated him coldly and decided to have Wilson deliver their message to the Foundation.

Following their discovery of a SCP-1000 population in the forest near Pripyat the GRU Division "P" sought train them as they at first believed that they were at the same level of intelligence with other primates. However, after finding out that SCP-1000 were actually just as smart if not smarter than humans, the Division decided to inject them with a serum that would make them unlock their past memories and further increase their intelligence in order to assist them in containing the Chernobyl incident. Although they were apprehensive at first the SCP-1000 population agreed to work with the Division to mitigate the damage caused from the incident, seeing that they had no other choice, but in turn the population would return to their settlement. Unfortunately for the Division, SCP-1000 ended up betraying them after realizing that the serum was damaging their brains and after trapping most Division operatives inside SCP-4426 they decided to remove the serum from their brains in order to live at the cost of their newly regained intelligence.

A brain damaged member of SCP-1000 named Billy had been captured by Marshall, Carter and Dark Ltd. who hunted down his family and sold him to Herman Fuller's Circus of the Disquieting. Although most of the circus treated him kindly Herman Fuller himself horribly mistreated and humiliated Billy both during performances and behind the stage, forcing him through cruel tricks. Despite this Billy remained ignorant of his mistreatment and had fun making people laugh. He eventually succumbed to his injuries, leaving Fuller to skin him in order to sell his fur back to MC&D while his meat was fed to the clowns.

When the Fae terrorist group opened a false Ambrose Restaurants establishment in SCP-5373 to capture unsuspecting Faeries, one of the dishes they purportedly served was the Night's Goulash which tasted as SCP-1000's genocide.

A member of Parawatch from a secluded Polish village had once come into contact with a small settlement of SCP-1000 who upon being discovered by him began stalking him. He tried to escape from them but was eventually caught and presumably murdered.

A tribe of SCP-1000 in Eastern Tennessee was featured in the Fourth Episode of SCP-5571, Vikander-Kneed Technical Media's series American Backyard. After the two hunters accompanying the show's hostess Herbacious Willoughby left in a panic at the sight of a member of the tribe, the member willingly conducted an interview with Willoughby explaining his culture and lifestyle.

According to Species of Interest-004, SCP-1000 coexisted with the Homo decensus. Their exact relationship is unknown before the decensus destroyed themselves and their slaves the Homo postdescensus took down SCP-1000, but appeared to have had no conflict between them.

The group Sons of Phomet was part of the Global Occult Coalition's Council of 108.

In SC-05/321-05/335, when the Faeries' Wild Hunt began attacking SCP-1000 and humanity, 1000 took over the Chaos Insurgency in order to get their hands on their "Engine" which was a gestalt overmind composed of pheromones, mushroom networks, and other biological devices that connected to everyone who were part of group. SCP-1000 would connect The Engine to the Faeries' trees which allowed them to surveil their enemies, and after that was over a SCP-1000 instance overthrew the then current Engineer to take his place.

A number of Sarkites held high respect for SCP-1000, seeing them as their predecessors who helped in the rise of their religion.

SCPs Associated with SCP-1000[]

  • SCP-001 (Lily's Proposal): An event that occurs shortly before an apocalyptic event which would exterminate all life on Earth. During this event all flowers around the world would bloom while all beings on the planet would be calm and happy as they awaited the end. This event appears to have transpired when humanity began killing SCP-1000 in their sleep before finishing the rest of the species off.
  • SCP-343: The Royal Vizier named Methuselah of the Daevite House of Malidraug. After SCP-1000 attacked the House, he was taken alongside other captives to be tormented for their captors' enjoyment. Methuselah had witnessed Noah summoning the Flood that killed most of SCP-1000 and allowed him and the other captives to escape.
  • SCP-378: A giant centipede resembling a larval version of the Amazonian one which could asexually produce offsprings, designated SCP-378-A, that could enter an advanced primate's body and integrate with their nervous system, allowing the mother to possess the primate from a distance. Three instances of SCP-1000 had fallen victims to SCP-378, becoming its mindless hosts.
  • SCP-1726: A library connected to the Wanderer's Library located somewhere in China which contains detailed history and artifacts of ancient civilizations, including those of SCP-1000.
  • SCP-2273: A soviet supersoldier named Alexei Belitrov from an alternate timeline in which the SCP-1000 species wasn't exterminated as much as in the most common timeline and still retained their intelligence. After being rediscovered living underground in modern times, SCP-1000 began supplying both American and Soviet military with their technology during the "War to End All Wars", hoping that humanity would destroy itself. Alexei was one of many Soviet soldiers who were augmented with SCP-1000's biomechanical armors, designated SCP-2273-2.
  • SCP-2511-A: The entire species of the mythical kappa originating from Japan. They coexisted with SCP-1000 and similarly to them saw humanity as akin to fairy tales.
  • SCP-2932: A highly advanced and secured prison located in Peru created by SCP-1000 using Titania's heart. They used this prison to contain various dangerous beings.
    • SCP-2932-1: The prisoners that were captured by SCP-1000 and kept inside pods, some of which include: Ephelia, Yon-Kamur, Mal-Va-Gar-Ta-Mor, the Faeries and Adam el Asem. There was additional place for both of Asem's sons SCP-073 and SCP-076-2 but were never filled.
    • SCP-2932-2: Titania's heart that she gave to SCP-1000 to power the entire organic prison.
    • SCP-2932-A: One the Faeries named Caspan resembling an insect-like humanoid with hair. During the revolt of SCP-1000 against the Faeries, Caspan surrendered himself to them in order to be spared and promised to obey their every wish. SCP-1000 accepted his offer and made him the prison's caretaker.
  • SCP-3140: Humanoid trees, originally created by SCP-1000 and later stolen and modified for combat use by the Daevites. These plant-machines served as weapons and healers during times of war, and can only be commanded through Daevic language. The Foundation was able to find a functioning member of SCP-3140 which was designated SCP-3140-1 and used its seeds to create two other instances each designated SCP-3140-2 and SCP-3140-3, but lacking the Daevite modifications.
  • SCP-4002: The contract between the Sumerian King Etana and the Black Moon in which Etana allowed the Moon to take away humanity's anomalous powers in exchange for the Seed of Life. Prior to this the humans had used their powers to take down SCP-1000.
  • SCP-4008: Bomb-like seeds that when planted will instantly grow into a massive tree with long roots before disintegrating, causing the ground beneath to crumble and swallow anything on it. SCP-1000 were provided with these seeds by their goddess Titania after sacrificing people to her, before being stolen by the Daevites who modified them to also release a field around the world which makes everyone forget that the bomb detonated in the first place along with memories of everything that resided there.
  • SCP-4179-2-47: A weird rock found in the planet Venus. After SCP-4179-1 wrote on it using SCP-4179, a special language invented by the old gods in the distant past that stabilizes the narrative reality of things spoken of in it, people who touched it were able to see Foundation spaceships destroying the SCP-1000 population on Venus.
  • SCP-4426: A series of biological masses found around Chernobyl and Pripyat comprised of various animals, plants and electronics, and from time to time release short bursts of radiation and radio waves from the GRU Division "P" operatives who are trapped inside. These masses were created by the SCP-1000 population that had been captured by the Division as retribution for what the humans had done to them and the nature.
  • SCP-4715: An immortal monster that grew in size when perceiving danger and when not perceiving threats it decreased its size, while generating heat in the process. Based on the inscriptions found in the containment area created by SCP-1000 to trap the creature, it is implied that SCP-4715 was created by the war fought between SCP-1000 and the Faeries. Following their massacre at the hands of humans one instance of SCP-1000 decided to free the monster in order for it kill as many humans as possible as revenge for what they did to them.
  • SCP-5373: A magical city named Esterberg, meaning "city of the east", which exists inside a nexus which can be accessed through five entries hidden around in Częstochowa, Poland. It was established by both SCP-1000 and the Faeries as a result of wars on the anomalous of medieval times during the Fourth Occult War.
  • ISM-5526: The Horseman of Famine appearing as a normal human. He usually behaved normally but every 24 hours he would enter a state in which he lost all sapience, destroyed anything edible and would attempt to escape. He was contained by the ISM Organization, a version of the Foundation staffed by SCP-1000 members from a reality in which the species was never overthrown, but they struggled with containing the Horseman due to their technology being considered edible and eroding to his effects.
  • SCP-5672: A magical cavern system underneath Stargard, Poland that manifests only on May 23rd each year. This cave was used by the Faerie survivors during the uprising of SCP-1000.
  • SCP-5775-A: A shapeshifting alien monster which was sent by the Empire of the Big Foot, an interplanetary empire established by SCP-1000, to attack an Ortothan spaceship. This suggests that SCP-1000 either had left Earth following the human uprising or were aliens that had established a colony on Earth that was destroyed by the humans.
  • SCP-5888: The personification of time known as Father Time willed into existence by humanity's belief in him before being forgotten and later weakened as a result. He had witnessed the slaughter of SCP-1000 at the hands of humans and inscribed his memory of the event into a carved stone.
  • SCP-6001: A microscopic portal to a parallel universe in which the Foundation collaborated with the major groups of interest and established worldwide peace. Together they formed the Compendium as the benevolent ruler of the Earth and began using the anomalies to benefit not only humanity but all life on Earth which eventually lead to Earth becoming a near perfect utopia. SCP-1000 was part of the Compendium being known as "The Nocturnal" and because of this they were free to go back to live peacefully on Earth alongside humanity. When the portal was opened to the main universe the Compendium made a poll to decide whether to contact this chaotic universe and offer them help for them to become an ideal world just like them or cut all ties with them just like they did with other universes filled with never ending conflicts, with the Nocturnal voting for contacting with this universe.
  • SCP-6016-B: An area in which SCP-6016, a magic ritual which suppresses any sound except for those expressing sadness and causes manifestations centering around memories and can only be executed by elephants, was performed. This area displayed the time during the SCP-1000 civilization before it was overthrown.
  • SCP-6666: The goddess Titania who was previously worshiped by the Faeries before she betrays them and helped SCP-1000 into overthrowing them. After giving her heart to SCP-1000 she transformed into a gigantic tree hanging upside down over the Faeries city in Amazon which was conquered by SCP-1000 and sunk into the earth because of an instance of SCP-4008. She was eventually attacked by SCP-6666-A who forced to release a poisonous gas that put SCP-1000 to an eternal slumber and keep them from harming humanity.
  • SCP-6672-1: A biotechnological eigenweapon created by PENTAGRAM during the Cold War to protect America from GRU Division "P"'s SCP-6672, a thaumaturgic eigenweapon which could detach the consciousness of individuals and absorb it into itself. The weapon was constructed using SCP-1000's technology that consisted of thaumaturgical runes which served to create a protective bubble that repelled deities. However, when the two weapons clashed with one another after the Soviets reconfigured SCP-6672 to bypass 6672-1's effects, it resulted in the minds contained within 6672 to transform into a deity referred to as SCP-6672-Ω who decided to use their powers to do good in the world.
  • SCP-6765-C: A more benevolent instance of SCP-1000 named Javert who during the Flood stumbled across the Daevite House of Malidraug's palace located beneath Aksayqin Lake in Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang where he encountered and befriended King Relivine and former knight of the House of Apollyon Demon Ogier. In the ensuing years he would take care of the two while stealing various items from passing caravans such as books and radios which he and his companions used to learn of the outside world. Thanks to his dream abilities Javert could allow people to communicate with Relivine despite the latter's state.
  • SCP-6783: A series of ancient notes written by Foundation doctor Evelyn Moore after she was accidentally transported back in the prehistoric times through a time machine. In these notes Dr. Moore recounts how SCP-1000 had used her time machine to rapidly evolve themselves and manipulate the flora and fauna, and in order to make up for her interference she taught the ancient humans how to use 1000's technology to overthrow them and become the dominant species.
  • SCP-6789: The phenomenon caused by the embodiment of nature after humanity mistreated it through the use of their technology. The phenomenon was responsible for the rapid growth of all plant life which enveloped most of Earth and the reemergence of various extinct species such as SCP-1000 and the Faeries who began working together to help nature destroy humanity and heal the Earth. It is unknown what happened to them after the Foundation defeated the threat of SCP-6789.
  • SCP-7600: A massive subterranean city comprised of biomechanical buildings located beneath Valdivia, Chile, and near the Earth's core where it houses around 2 000 000 000 instances of SCP-1000. It was constructed shortly after the SCP-1000's genocide by the surviving members who were led by their tyrannical king Met'heus, designated SCP-7600-K. During the ensuing years, almost all of the citizens worked relentlessly to prepare the Sundown Ritual which they believed would summon their spiritual leader Phomet and lift the curse set on them by Queen Mab, but unbeknownst to them Met'heus created the ritual to kill all human thaumaturgists around the world in order to be freed from the curse. Thankfully just as the Ritual was about to start it was thwarted by O5-4 and his sister O5-8, and Met'heus was then killed by his brother Phomet.
  • SCP-8140: Various ancient artifacts, mostly military paraphernalia, belonging to both the SCP-1000 and Daevites found just outside of Göbekli Tepe, which causes those who touch them to experience the memories of their owners using them and be unable to forget those events despite usage of amnestics. These artifacts were used in a battle between one of the last SCP-1000 strongholds and the Daeva during the paleolithic era due to the Daeva expanding to the Children of the Night's territory. The Daeva imbued their artifacts with their memory properties for their incoming reinforcements to find once they had been killed, but an SCP-1000 crashed the ritual, causing his blood to accidentally be used and thus extending the anomalous properties to their artifacts as well.
  • SCP-8225: A pocket dimension consisting of a vast near infinite land with a variable geography and a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, inhabited by various human species known as the Eshannu, coexisting with an array of nonhuman beings such as SCP-1000 who mostly live as guests. The only way to access the dimension was through a Rosen-Fortune Bridge which required the pilgrims to abstain from consuming meat, alcohol, tobacco and engaging in sexual activity for three days before starting their journey on any westbound road, and walk for around a month during which they were to only consume water and a psychotropic fungus.
  • SCP-8899: A mnemonic and gnostic eigenweapon resembling a yew tree, created from a cutting taken from the Wanderer's Library. Capable of altering and rewriting all knowledge and memory on Earth, the Faeries created the weapon, intending to stultify humans and SCP-1000, who were currently fighting a war instigated by the Faeries. After its completion, the weapon was stolen by the human tribe leader, Ninmah, who used it to render SCP-1000 intellectually suppressed. The psychic trauma experienced by SCP-1000 killed a majority of them and resulted in accelerated plant growth worldwide, an event which later became known as the Day of Flowers. The weapon was later used by the Administrator to create the Veil following the Sixth Occult War.
  • AO-1170: A silver locket holding a photo of a human and an SCP-1000 instance embracing each other in front of the Eiffel Tower. It was later stolen by either the human or the instance as it was a valuable memory.
  • 終-Y-1789: A series of trees capable of growing currency, engineered by JOICL with the investment from the current SCP-7600-K. The king sought to use this new product to help in the country's economy due to the outside market being incompatible with that of SCP-1000, but this caused SCP-7600 to plummet into debt.
  • SCP-014-INT: A modified Flat Marengo car that possesses a small laboratory used to make drugs and could teleport between Nexuses via gateways, designated SCP-014-INT-1. It was used by a criminal SCP-1000 instance, known as POI-1000-ZA, who managed to escape after the Foundation claimed the car.
  • SCP-ZH-310: A protein found in the brain of humans that often causes them to develop anomalous capabilities. It was created by SCP-1000 during their experimentation on early humans as part of their biological research.
  • SCP-ZH-727:
  • SCP-ZH-728:
  • SCP-809-KO: A dome, designated SCP-809-KO-1, covered in vines of a unknown plant species which releases a hypnotic scent that causes those near to go inside it, entering a labyrinth comprised of the same vines, but with long sharp thorns. If an individual gets pierced by one of the thorns, they would die, at which their body would be infected by the plant and be reanimated as a zombie, designated SCP-809-KO, who served to guard an enormous egg at the center of the labyrinth. According to Pangloss, this dome was created by SCP-1000 who greatly feared the egg.
  • SCP-689-FR: The ancient human civilization of the Begonians that lived in prehistoric France. This civilization utilized magical words and biological technology similar to the Daevites. It was later determined that the Begonian civilization had stolen some of SCP-1000's technology, since it was founded shortly before the Day of Flowers.

SCP: Sedition[]

In this non-canon, fan-made series about the Foundation, there is an experimental video that focuses on the use of SCP-978 (known as "The Desire Camera"). An employee by the name of Isaac "Watch" Watchthorne uses the anomalous camera to photograph many SCPs to learn their desires. Watch is given permission to enter a wooded area where SCP-1000 instances reside. Watch finds one instance and takes a picture. The resulting photograph shows Watch as the one being photographed instead of the instance. This might mean that SCP-1000's/the instance's desire is for humanity and its own race to switch places, or that the instance wishes to study humanity, instead of the other way around.

Trivia[]

  • The SCP-1000 article implies that the reason why SCP-1000's history is inconsistent and contradicting is because of SCP-2000's Bloom resetting the universe every time the world is near destruction.
  • While SCP-1000 are based on the Bigfoot, they are also largely inspired by the Chinese legend of the Yeren, among other Ape-Men.
    • The tale "Of Yarmir, the Last King of the Night (Pending Deletion)" was inspired by the video game Elden Ring.
  • Before the creation of the current SCP-1000, there was a previous iteration of SCP-1000 which was about an electrical guitar that played itself and killed those unworthy of playing it. This was recognized in-universe in SCP-001 (WMDD's Proposal).
  • When the Foundation used SCP-978 to take a photo of an SCP-1000 instance hiding behind the woods, the picture showed the instance having switched place with the photographer, meaning that it wished to take humanity's place and things return to how they used to be.
  • Since it is suggested that SCP-550 has identical structure to SCP-3140, it is possible that the anomaly is also a creation of SCP-1000.
  • SCP-984, a public restroom which produces various mammals designated SCP-984-1 that would try to devour the one single occupant using the restroom, once produced an SCP-1000 instance.
  • In the "mirror" reality of RK0-10Q-R30 created by the Foundation's Project Palisade, SCP-1000's designation was switched with that of SCP-1111.
  • In the "Unfounded" canon, after the SCP Foundation used SCP-6871 to remove SCP-1000 from history, this allowed humanity to evolve much early and become way more advanced in the present era. This was eventually undone when the one who executed the removal, O5-12, was removed the same way by a D-Class.
  • According to the tale "Haphway There" the name Bigfoot is a disrespectful name for SCP-1000.
  • It is unknown if SCP-6453, an intelligent Yeti who eats its own excrement and builds sculptures out of it, is a member of SCP-1000, although it is probably just a creature who just resembles the species.
  • According to SCP-6767, it also possesses the memories of deceased SCP-1000 members and not just humans.
  • SCP-6765-C takes his name from the main antagonist of the famous French novel Les Misérables.
  • The Bigfoot seen in the tale "Bigfoot Did It!" has nothing to do with SCP-1000. The "List of Common Anomalous Misconceptions" and SCP-8820 clarified that Bigfoot came as a result of the myth surrounding SCP-1000 and wasn't in fact a member of the species.
  • According to the "List of Common Anomalous Misconceptions", SCP-1000's history coincidentally resembled the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, giving rise to the rumors that he based his stories on them.
