Even with the ritual in place, if the Stag thought to escape, it would, and we would be powerless to stop it. The entire facility would vanish in a puff of hydrogen. So let us be thankful then that it does not think at all. This is an old god; it does not dabble in decisions. Decisions are for creatures who may act inconsistently. A god of this strength simply Is. It is an absolute. It may choose this or that no more than gravity might. In building this ritual, we have shifted its being the slightest bit, and now it is locked into a pattern of behavior: it struggles against us, we struggle against it, and we are locked together in an eternal dance so long as the ritual remains intact.
~ Statement from containment consultant ██████ ████████ to the Ethics Committee on January 31, 2012.

SCP-2845, also known as THE DEER or Deer from Saturn, is a major antagonist in the SCP Foundation series.

It is an Esoteric-classed deer-like figured creature capable of transforming people into living organic pillars while causing mass destruction if the Foundation doesn't enact a specific horrific ritual.

Appearance[]

SCP-2845 appears to measure 2.9 meters in height, while it weighs over 815 kilograms. SCP-2845 appears to have a sinuous neck while his head appears to have humanoid facial coloration. SCP-2845 also has antlers that measure 4.8 meters. The antlers appear to be black and white and they are not observed to shed.

SCP-2845 also appears to be covered full of hair that measures a length of 10 cm, while the face is totally hairless. SCP-2845's coloration is mainly pastel green, with stripes of cream on the neck and the belly. On the skull of SCP-2845, it appears that he has a ring of ice suspended behind of it that measures 15 cm and 1.7 m in diameter.

Biography[]

Possible Origins[]

From 120's Archives[]

SCP-2845 known as the master of matter and particles by SCP-7629 was one of the many beings praised by humans, Fae and Yeren along with the iron scholar and his sister the mother of flesh, the Monarch of Blood, the serpent and its dark counterpart. SCP-2845 went to build his domain upon the halo world (Saturn).

Modern Times[]

Arrival on Earth[]

On November 27, 2011, Comet C/2011 W3 was sighted. On December 17, 2011, a fragment, which was SCP-2845 was observed breaking off from the main comet and was confirmed to be on a collision course with Earth. Four days later, SCP-2845 crash-landed in the Pacific Ocean 124 kilometers off the western American coast, causing a tsunami that killed over 100,000 people despite evacuation efforts.

Four days later, civilian video footage captured SCP-2845 making its way through the United States. The SCP Foundation attempted to contain it but faced significant casualties. The Foundation then decided to ask other groups of interest for help, including the Global Occult Coalition and an unknown specialist group. Despite their efforts, SCP-2845 continued its path of destruction for several days. Once 2012 began, the containment ritual for SCP-2845 was designed. SCP-2845 then reached a pre-determined containment area two weeks later. Over the next month, Site-100 was built specifically to contain SCP-2845. On February 19, 2012, SCP-2845 was finally contained.

Containment Ritual[]

The point behind the ritual is to make sure that SCP-2845 believes that the ritual is containing it.

(60°) Containment specialists are presented with masks (Joy, Sadness, Anger, Apathy, Fear, and Foolishness) and act out ceremony Cassini-A. Ceremony Cassini-A is a farcical comedy of errors and exchange of insults between the six individuals, culminating in Foolishness outwitting the group in a game of riddles and declaring himself king. The conclusion of ceremony Cassini-A is followed by a game of dice. The winner of the game is irrelevant to the procedure.
~ Procedure 410-Cassini.
(120°) Performance of Holst Opus 32, Movement 5 for flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, timpani, and bass drum. The piece is accompanied by specific somatic and vocal components carried out by the players throughout the performance, designated ceremony Perinaldo-A. The performance must be live; recordings of the piece have no effect.
~ Procedure 420-Perinaldo.
(180°) Gifts are exchanged among containment specialists. Content of gifts is irrelevant to the procedure, but each gift must not exceed 4.28 USD in worth. Each gift is accompanied by recitation of ceremony Epimetheus-A in its entirety and the scattering of grain around the containment chamber.
~ Procedure 430-Epimetheus.
(240°) Ceremony Cassiel-A is recited as containment specialists bind their feet with wool and consume 60 ml of olive oil. They then will break apart a rock weighing at least 20 kilograms with hammers. Ceremony Cassiel-B is recited throughout.
~ Procedure 440-Cassiel.
(300°) A D-class subject is prepared by painting a symbol (ring surrounding a dot, with an arrow pointing upwards at the 90-degree point) on the stomach with a platinum-based solution, and presented with a blue cloak, crown, and scepter. D-class subject is then restrained in a chair, and ceremony Cairo-A is recited. After recitation of the ceremony Cairo-A, the D-class subject is castrated by use of a hand sickle by a containment specialist. The testes are then to be disposed of in a bowl of salt water as Ceremony Cairo-B is recited.
~ Procedure 450-Cairo.
(0°) Ceremony Omphalos-A is to be recited before termination and roasting of an H-class subject no more than three months of age. Ceremony Omphalos-B is to be recited before consumption. After consumption of the child, ceremony Omphalos-C is to be recited over a bowl of small gastroliths, which are then swallowed. Vomiting is then induced, and ceremony Omphalos-D is recited, ending containment procedures.
~ Procedure 460-Omphalos.

Possible Endings[]

Project Isorropía[]

Following the success of cross-testing anomalies at Site-100, SCP-2845 was cross-tested with SCP-296, a stone channel in a blast crater containing an amphitheater with 56 sculptures that judges beings guilty of crimes by using anomalies formerly contained at Site-03. SCP-2845 altered the structure of SCP-296 to resemble its original containment unity, with the 56 figures altered to look like victims of SCP-2845. SCP-2845 alternated between attacking the 296 instances and cowering from them in the center of the amphitheater. Dr. ██████ █████████ stated that SCP-296 found SCP-2845 guilty and sentenced it to atone for its crimes by containing itself.

Powers and Abilities[]

SCP-2845 is capable of transmutations and reconstructions when needed. This property manifests at its own will. The maximum power of this ability is anonymous. The matter will remain active despite the lack of these factors: metallic hydrogen and helium, which will remain in either solid or liquid form despite the surrounding temperature.

Weaknesses[]

SCP-2845 is held back with a six-step ritual that includes some controversial steps. These rituals are based around the worship and myth of the Greek titan Kronos (also known as Saturn in Roman culture). As long as SCP-2845 believes that the rituals hold it captive, it will be held captive.

Trivia[]

  • SCP-2845 is one of the few anomalies where the Foundation has looked for help outside of its ranks in order to contain the threat.
  • It is heavily implied, though never openly stated, that the being might be the Greek-Roman deity Kronos.
  • This anomaly is not to be confused with Saturn Deer, a powerful trickster from the SCP mythos, who used 2845 as his steed during the war against the Scarlet King.
  • In the tale "Not a contest entry, but a crackfic about gods anyways" SCP-2845 thinks that the Pattern Screamers have a bad taste in music.
