You cannot see the snow, can you? Not really. You just see it as a bunch of frozen ice crystals, crystalline structures made through a combination of molecules on molecules, which settle on the tops of houses and on the tops of trees. But those of us here at Site-799 know better. Site-799 knows that the snow is something more.
~ SCP-3799's victims about it.

SCP-3799 is an antagonist in the SCP mythos. It is an entity that takes the form of a snowstorm and slowly brainwashes the entire world in order to make everything pure and uniform like the snow.

Biography

SCP-3799 was created when Dr. Simon Kells, a researcher at the SCP Foundation, initiated Project Midwinter. Exactly what this entailed is unclear, but the entity that became SCP-3799 was brought into the world, manifesting itself as a snowstorm over Crozier Island. All those who came into contact with the snow were exposed to a memetic effect and fell under its spell, believing that it would lead them to enlightenment and destroy all "impurities".

During the Foundation's attempts to defeat SCP-3799, they discovered that corpses exposed to SCP-3799 would be corroded by SCP-3799 and undergo molecular alteration to become more snow. They also found that blood had a debilitating effect on the snow, but were unable to prevent SCP-3799's expansion.

As it took over more of the world, SCP-3799 also began to rewrite history, reviving the Daevite civilisation and rewriting the SCP Foundation into the SCF (Snow Containment Foundation) with the sole purpose of containing "SCF-3799". Eventually only one person was left after SCP-3799 overran the world.

Fortunately the final survivor somehow overcame the memetic effect and remembered how things were before. Remembering the snow's weakness to blood, he flew an aircraft carrier into the centre of the storm over Crozier Island and cut himself numerous times, bleeding into the heart of the entity. Unable to cope with this, it died and all its changes were cut off at the source, restoring reality to how it was before. His corpse appeared in this new reality, allowing the Foundation to find his documentation of what happened and cancel Project Midwinter, thus preventing SCP-3799 from coming into existence.
