~ SCP-INTEGER in SCP-6416.
SCP-INTEGER, real name LOGICIAN, is an overarching antagonist of the SCP Foundation series. It is a mysterious entity capable of manipulating information and the laws of reality to how it sees fit and primarily uses these powers to punish anyone who learns about it and gives it an incorrect simple identifier. Because of its power to abstract names of anything, it is seen as the deity of the Faeries and their land SCP-4000.
It is responsible for the Foundation employee Dr. Nathan Valis becoming the famous Dr. Placeholder McDoctorate, and is part of the "Department of Miscommunications" and the "Archetypicals" series.
Because of its nature, the true appearance of SCP-INTEGER remains unknown, if it even has an appearance.
Personality[]
Not much is known about SCP-INTEGER's personality. From its interactions with the Foundation it can be deduced that SCP-INTEGER is somewhat malevolent and an egotist. When someone gives it a false simple identifier, SCP-INTEGER would be angered by this and punish that individual by abstracting their name as revenge. SCP-INTEGER is also shown to destroy countless realities throughout the multiverse for no apparent reason simply because the various versions of Placeholder McDoctorate attempted to free themselves from its influence, showing the malevolence and extravagance of SCP-INTEGER. It is in fact a self-centered ruler who wants to be the star of the show, believing itself to be powerful and that its egotistical nature is justified by the existence of the anomalous.
Biography[]
Background[]
It is unknown how LOGICIAN came to be. It was the king of the interdimensional realm of SCP-4000 inhabited by the nameless Faeries who seemingly worshipped the being, and based on information gathered around ███-3955 LOGICIAN appears to be located somewhere in the deep void of space. LOGICIAN's existence was a secret to the Foundation and everyone else except for the Faeries and as a result, its influence on Earth was very minimal.
Encountering Placeholder[]
In the modern era, Dr. Nathan Valis working for the SCP Foundation in Site-15 when doing some semiohazardous anti-math not only was able to discover LOGICIAN's existence but also its true name and nature as a sapient entity, leading to him cataloging it as an SCP. This caused part of LOGICIAN's identity to be taken by Valis, angering the entity who punished him by abstracting his own name, forcing Valis to be renamed Placeholder McDoctorate. Following its discovery, LOGICIAN proceeded to abstract everything referred to it, such as its file which was renamed SCP-INTEGER.
A Foundation employee went on to interview Placeholder over SCP-INTEGER's file. Placeholder did his best to explain the situation while not invoking the entity's effects, but the interviewer unintentionally referred to LOGICIAN as an "issue", causing their identity to get abstracted. Two more Foundation employees fell victim to SCP-INTEGER which forced the Foundation to attempt to contain it by referring to it using "correct" identifiers while being oblivious to its real nature except for Placeholder.
Following this, SCP-INTEGER began affecting all realities which possessed their version of Placeholder through his Rubik's cube. In these realities, Placeholder under the employment of the Foundation encountered SCP-INTEGER and had their identities abstracted along with their Rubik's cube, causing the cube to be synchronized with its other versions and essentially become one single object. If this cube were to be muddled it would affect the other realities in which it existed. After some versions of McDoctorate became O5-6 of the O5 Council they would discover the anomaly surrounding their Rubik's cube and its effects, designating the entire phenomena SCP-6416. However, when these Placeholders attempted to break free of this anomaly they would inadvertently cause their entire reality to be destroyed, with SCP-INTEGER remarking that's not the kind of story they should tell.
Possible Endings[]
SCP-001 (Ihp/Locke Proposal)[]
Because of Site-100's manipulation, SCP-INTEGER simplified SCP-2521's name to NARCISSIST. This caused the effects of both SCPs to be nullified, as following their cross-test SCP-INTEGER shared its identity with 2521 causing the latter to start relentlessly chasing it down.
Powers and Abilities[]
SCP-INTEGER is a semiontological entity existing as a bureaucratohazard complex. SCP-INTEGER possesses the power to disrupt the Semiosphere, a medium in which information about reality travels before being perceived or measured. Through this SCP-INTEGER is capable of manipulating information regarding itself and other beings and objects, the laws of the governments and physics, and even the Narrative of alternate universes. SCP-INTEGER mostly uses this power to abstract the names of those who use 'incorrect' identifiers. If someone or something, like physical or electrical documents, referred to SCP-INTEGER using a simple word, even unintentionally, that identifier would be incorporated into SCP-INTEGER's identity, and in turn, the being would retroactively change that person's name to a simple word describing them by adding one Cuil. That person or object would have their new name be their true name which they received since birth, causing their original name and proper nouns prior to abstraction to be forever lost. Apart from that these people and objects can still exist and work normally as if nothing had really happened, but would possess the same naming effects of INTEGER to a lesser extent.
Placeholder McDoctorate is an exception as he spoke SCP-INTEGER's true name, causing his original name Nathan Valis to be lost, but he still retained his proper nouns. Along with Placeholder, SCP-INTEGER also abstracted his Rubik's cube which became one with the other cubes possessed by the alternate versions of McDoctorate throughout the multiverse after they became O5-6, causing each of them to affect their respective realities. This multiversal metaprobabilistic phenomenon came to be known as SCP-6416 and because of its powers, SCP-INTEGER could manipulate and restructure every timeline and universe on a narrative level. When the various versions of McDoctorate attempted to break away from the matches of their cubes SCP-INTEGER would outright completely erase their realities, killing all of the inhabitants and leaving nothing behind. In light of this, some McDoctorates decided to isolate their respective universes from the rest of the multiverse in order to not have them also destroyed.
It is also revealed that SCP-INTEGER is also responsible for ███-3955, a series of eight notes in music that every Artificial Intelligence would eventually and inevitably produce for a period of time. SCP-INTEGER could manipulate the AIs through transmissions which forced the AIs to produce these notes. If the AIs were to successfully produce ███-3955 then they spell SCP-INTEGER's name which would cause SCP-INTEGER to swap properties with those of the universe, becoming abstracted and unreal.
McDoctorate believed that he could use alternate versions of SCP-5109, a password that can be remembered by only one person in all of reality and if the holder tells the it to another person, they would completely forget it while the one who heard it will become the new holder of the password, to create a structure within his mind to perfectly resemble that of SCP-INTEGER. Since this identical structure would hold all of SCP-INTEGER's information it would cause SCP-INTEGER to become that structure. This would effectively trap SCP-INTEGER inside a memetic prison within McDoctorate's mind and could allow the personnel at Site-87 to safely study it and neutralize the threat. However, it was all theoretical speculation as it wasn't approved.
In SCP-001 (Ihp/Locke Proposal), it is shown that after SCP-INTEGER affected SCP-2521, the latter retaliated against it. 2521 began chasing SCP-INTEGER who was forced to evade it and hide. This means either SCP-INTEGER isn't that powerful as it first appeared to be, or 2521 was more powerful than first thought.

Trivia[]
SCP-INTEGER shares similarities with another powerful nomenclative being in the SCP Wiki SCP-5935-1.
The author of SCP-INTEGER, Placeholder McD, acknowledged the similarities between the two on Twitter.
Although in its file SCP-INTEGER's Object Class is "Challenge" due its effects, in SCP-001 (Ihp/Locke Proposal) it is revealed that its intended class was Keter.
