Sadai (in Japanese: サダイ, Sadai) is an anime-only villain serving as the main antagonist of the Past Konoha episode "Drive Towards Darkness". He is the leader of a mercenary gang who has worked for various employers.
He was voiced by Takuya Kirimoto in the Japanese version, and by Richard Cansino in the English dubbed version.
Biography[]
Sometime during the Third Shinobi World War, Sadai and his gang had fought the Uchiha clan. Sadai also met with Itachi Uchiha, who would eventually massacre the entire Uchiha clan.
In the present, Sadai and his gang camouflage themselves to avoid detection by Kakashi and Sasuke. He then arrives to kidnap Naho for ransom bearing a seemingly toothless face. He orders "Sasuke" to leave Naho with him. Naruto, who is masquerading as Sasuke, shadow clones himself with multiple Sasuke look-alikes and fights the henchmen, but Sadai is not amused and uses a Mudslide Technique to bury some of the clones underground. He also withstood the Lion Combo and insults it. He then fights through more Sasuke clones with an earthen club. "Sasuke" seemingly knocks out Sadai with a Rasengan but it is not effective either.
Naho is then taken hostage and threatens to kill her if "Sasuke" doesn't comply to his demands. Sadai then knocks the fake Sasuke into a tree, undoing Naruto's disguise. Sadai then has Naruto, Sakura and Naho back to his hideout so he can demand a ransom for the girl's life. Naruto breaks the girl's bindings with his teeth, but Sadai boxes her in with his Earth Release.
Just as Sadai boasts how Naho's cries are useless, the real Sasuke arrives, having knocked out the henchmen, and recognizes Sadai, whom he is supposed to apprehend. With Naruto weakened, Sadai challenges the genuine Sasuke to see if he is strong, and withstands Sasuke's attacks seemingly dominating the fight and an explosive kunai. Sasuke then burns out Sadai's armor with the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique revealing himself to be a handsome lightskinned man. Sadai then pummels Sasuke, insulting him as a poor excuse of a fighter. Sasuke then activates his Sharingan, catching the bandit's attention. As Sadai tells of how Sasuke is not worth killing, the furious Uchiha shinobi activates his Chidori and defeats him.
Sasuke continues to beat Sadai in a full-on rage until Kakashi stops him and soon, Sadai is taken into custody.
Powers and Abilities[]
Sadai can use his Earth release to use the ground against his enemies such as turning it into quicksand. Sadai can also form an earthen club on his arm. He can also use the earth to slightly alter his appearance thus making it armor-like against physical attack.
