Saiga is a minor antagonist turned minor protagonist in Dragalia Lost. He serves as the secondary antagonist of the "Shadow of the Mukuroshu" Defensive event.

Saiga wears a black coat with a red shirt underneath. He also wears a pair of red and black gauntlets.
Biography[]
Past[]
Sometime ago, Saiga was an honorable and happy warrior who cared deeply for others. He was trained by Yachiyo's grandfather whom he had deep respect for. He even married Yachiyo's sister, Momoyo. However, Momoyo fell sick one day and soon passed away. Overwhelmed with grief, Saiga found himself unable to continue.
Then he is approached by an organization known as the Mukuroshu, who tell him that he would be able to bring Momoyo back if he worked for them in opening the gate to the Realm of the Dead. Believing this, Saiga joined the Mukuroshu as an assassin, getting details on each of his targets. That changed when he was tasked specifically with poisoning a target. Upon fulfilling the task, he soon finds out the target to be his own mentor. Horrified by what he did, he leaves the Mukuroshu and begins looking for a way to open the Realm of the Dead on his own.
Shadow of the Mukuroshu[]
Eventually, Saiga finds out about the Underworld Key and that Yachiyo carries a map to it. He also finds out the Mukuroshu is targetting her. With this, he sets off to acquire the key before the Mukuroshu. However, Saiga is able to tell he isn't the man she once knew and refuses to give him the map.
Saiga opts not to force her and instead wait until she is willing to give it. He eventually gets attacked by zombies summoned by a Mukuroshu necromancer. When he gets saved by Yachiyo, he thinks she will give him the scroll, but she still refuses. There, the Mukuroshu Man reveals to her that Saiga was the one who killed her grandfather. Devastated by the revelation, Yachiyo demands Saiga to explain himself. Saiga opts not to say anything, so Yachiyo challenges him to a duel with her map being his prize if he wins while telling him that he has to obey any demand she makes if she wins.
Accepting the terms, the two meet up in a cave where they clash blades and mana. Yachiyo ultimately manages to come out on top, but she admits she likely would have lost if Saiga had fought her with a blade like he used to. However, the Mukuroshu Man shows up to forcefully take Yachiyo's map, attempting to shoot her down. However, Saiga takes the bullet and is seemingly killed. With this, the Mukuroshu Man reveals the organization lied to Saiga and that he wouldn't ever be able to reunite with Momoyo even if he managed to open the Realm of the Dead. However, Saiga reveals himself to still be alive as he performs a surprise attack on the Mukuroshu soldier, killing him and ending his zombie army.
Now knowing that all he did was for nothing, he demands for Yachiyo to finish him off. Yachiyo is angered by Saiga choosing to give up and instead demands him to atone for his crimes. Realizing this to be Yachiyo cashing in on her terms of their duel, Saiga and joins her at the halidom.
