Sailor Waddle Dee is a major antagonist in the "Revenge of Meta Knight" sub-game in Kirby Super Star and it's remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra. He serves as a member of Meta Knight's crew on the battleship Halberd, though his role in the group is unknown.
Biography[]
Currently, Sailor Waddle Dee's only major appearance in the series is in the "Revenge of Meta Knight" sub-game of Kirby Super Star and its remake. He first receives orders from Captain Vul to start the battleship's engines, but panics as Kirby invades and begins destroying the ship. Later, while the crew discusses the reactor's weakness, Sailor Waddle Dee accidentally reveals that reflecting a laser into the reactor's core is the only way to destroy it. Once Meta Knight is defeated and the destroyed Halberd begins crashing into the ocean, Sailor Waddle Dee refuses to escape and leave his crew behind, staying on the ship as it sinks. What happens to him afterwards is unknown, as his appearances afterwards are all in non-canon subgames.
Sailor Waddle Dee also appears in cameos throughout the series. He appears alongside Captain Vul, Axe Knight, and Meta Knight himself in the credits of the "Meta Knightmare Ultra" sub-game in Kirby Super Star Ultra. He's also seen in the background of the penultimate boss of the "Strato Patrol EOS" subgame of Kirby Mass Attack, in which he is seen in the Halberd cheering on Meta Knight alongside Bandana Waddle Dee. In Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, he is seen chasing a butterfly in the village after the player(s) defeats Whispy Woods for the first time.
While not physically appearing, he's a collectable sticker in Kirby Planet Robobot, and his hat is alternate headgear for Bandana Waddle Dee in Kirby Battle Royale.
Appearance[]
Sailor Waddle Dee is a standard reddish-orange Waddle Dee with yellow feet and brown eyes, wearing a white sailor cap with a blue ribbon.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown if he survived, as he was the only member to stay behind in the Halberd and the only one who witnessed Meta Knight's duel with Kirby. Since he possesses no flying abilities to have escaped the Halberd by himself, it is likely that Meta Knight saved him.
- Despite his cowardice, he was extremely loyal to Meta Knight, even refusing to leave the Halberd while it was blowing up.
