The Saint Denis Police Department is an antagonistic faction featured in Red Dead Redemption II and Red Dead Online, serving as secondary antagonists during the fourth chapter of Redemption II.
They are responsible for cleaning up the streets of Saint Denis and protect its citizens. Although they are the most effective police department found in the series (the second being the Blackwater Police Department), they are highly corrupt and affiliated Angelo Bronte's mob.
Overview[]
The S.D.P.D. is the police department of the city of Saint Denis, that will also patrol the Bayou Nwa region, where the city is located, and neighboring Bluewater Marsh region.
They wear a grey helmet with an unidentified symbol or a police hat and a uniform consisting of a blue coat, black trousers, black boots and white gloves. They are equipped with high quality weapons, such as revolvers, pistols, repeaters or shotguns. They have a very significant presence in every street of Saint Denis, are in frequent patrol and thus will arrive quickly and in large numbers. If cops fail to take down the criminal, U.S Marshals will be sent out.
This police service is undoubtedly the most effective and modern police department found in the series with the Blackwater PD. They are however highly corrupted and cooperate with the Italian mob of Angelo Bronte, who runs the criminal world of Saint Denis and later Guido Martelli, who replaced Bronte at the mob's head after he was killed by the Van der Linde gang. It is strongly implied that they are bribed by local gangs, which explains the abnormal level of corruption and street criminals in the city.
The S.D.P.D. is also possibly racist, which would reflect accusations of racism against the New Orleans Police Department in real life, Saint Denis being based on New Orleans.
