Saira Govindan is the main antagonist of action mystery comedy Murder Mystery 2.
She was portrayed by Kuhoo Verma.
Personality[]
Saira is seen as being quiet and unassuming, but she is also greedy, ruthless, and bloodthirsty.
Biography[]
She is the younger sister of Vikram "The Maharajah" Govindan, who is a friend of main protagonists Audrey and Nick Spitz (who met the Maharajah during the events of the first film). She was first shown at her brother's wedding party conversing with Audrey, though the party suddenly ends in tragedy when the group suddenly sees who they believe was Vik falling off an elephant and collapsing. In actuality, it was Vik's bodyguard, Lou, who was stabbed to death, after which Vik was abducted for ransom.
The film's progression saw the couple's attempt to deliver the ransom result in them being suspected in the abduction, as well as survive an attempt by Countess Sekou and Imani (who stole the ransom money) to kill the pair, after which all suspects were rounded up. Saira responded to Audrey approaching her with shock and disbelief that Audrey would think that she would be behind her own brother's abduction, and after Vik arrived with a bomb strapped to his chest, Nick--figuring that the bomb would not detonate--allowed the timer to run out, as he knew that the culprit wouldn't allow anything to get in the way of receiving the ransom money.
Shortly afterwards, Nick revealed that Connor Miller (a former MI6 hostage negotiator who led the investigation) was the abductor, and it was followed by Nick and Audrey successfully defeating Miller while Saira helped the others remove the vest from her brother. Following the couple's success, Audrey noticed what she thought was blood on Saira's arm, only for Saira to state that it was actually her henna being smeared during the ordeal. However, as Saira attempted to leave, Audrey stated that henna doesn't smear once it's been dried, and added that the burning robe that was donned by a cloaked figure who was behind the elephant was actually stained with henna, which revealed that Saira donned the cloak and killed Lou at the party.
As Nick deduced, Saira was furious over her parents leaving their family business to Vik, as she knew she was smarter and more responsible than her brother. Saira turned heel prior to Vik's wedding by attempting to kill her brother in Mumbai, though her shot struck Colonel Ulenga, who dove in front of Vik to protect him, though they were unaware that Saira was the shooter. After that attempt failed, the evil Saira donned her cloaked disguise and followed the elephant, expecting Vik to be on top, and killed Lou believing he was Vik, after which the villainess burned the robe. After denying the claims, Saira admitted to the attempts before grabbing a gun and firing at Vik in another attempt to kill her brother, only to be knocked out by Claudette (Vik's fiancée), and later arrested.
