Salinger also known as the God of the Death and Underworld Emperor is one of the overarching antagonists in the supernatural dark fantasy light novel, Manhua and its Donghua television series, Lord of the Mysteries.
Originally, "He" was a Subsidiary God under the Annihilation Demonic Wolf Flegrea and later switched to being under Gregrace, the Phoenix Ancestor prior to Demonic King's death who was known to be the God of the Death during the Second Epoch.
During the Fourth Epoch, he become known as the Emepror of Underworld once he founded the Balam Empire, being the ancestor of the Eggers family which in later participated the War of the Four Emperors for his benefit to become the new Great Old One with a different path by fusing the River of Eternal Darkness as a distributory along with the Death and Red Priest Uniqueness. During in that process, "He" went mad as a result when he becomes the Half Great Old One wielding authorities of Death and Red Priest pathway where he end up wreaking havok and creating catastrophe with Primordial Demoness in the near end of the Fourth epoch.
Salinger was later killed by the Orthodox God leading to the Fall of Balam Empire that led to the creation of Beserk Sea separating North and Southern Continents. He planned to revive using his sons soul in order to ressurect before he perished in the end of the Fourth Epoch, however his plan failed when Evernight intervened to absorbed the Deaths Uniqueness.

He appeared to be a middle aged man resembling of being a native in the Southern Continent which is implied in his mural from the Rose Redemption in the Forsaken Land of the Gods.
Personality[]
"He" was described by Antigonous to be gloomy and an aura that reeks out of him. Salinger was described to be a Power Hungry God Wannabe and ambitious to become a Great Old One.

Second Epoch[]
"He" was directly born in the middle of the Second Epoch who became the Pale Emperor in Sequence 1 of Death pathway with title being known as the God of the Dead and a subsidary god under Demonic Wolf, Flegrea but turned to Gregrace after her death.
Third Epoch[]
"He" later became the King of Angels before he joined the Subsidary God's faction of Rose Redemption that was lead by the Evernight Goddess causing the fall of Ancient Sun God.
Fourth Epoch[]
In the beginning of the the rise of the Gods, he managed to advance to Sequence 0 becoming Death and during that, All deities have their own respective countries who acknowledged the first Solomon Empire and its rule of the Black Emperor in the Northern Continent to fight against the factions who oppose this. While the civilization have its conflicts, Death had a conflict towards the Gods who share the same adjacent group sequence, Eternal Darkness.
For the sake of its balance, the Black Emperor didnt attack the Southern Continent as he allowed Salinger himself to unite the areas to establish the Balaam Empire. "He" participated the War of Four Emperors who benefited from the most due to gaining the Uniqueness of the Red Pathway and planned to fuse the Red Priest and Eternal Darkness in creating the new path of the Great Old One, however this led him to become mad while becoming stronger which raised him to gain powers that are equivalent of the Half Great Old One over a century of digestion.
Near the end of the Fourth Epoch, Salinger cooperated and joined forces with Primordial Demoness to wreak havoc and creating a devastating catastrophe in the Northern Continent which led the seven Gods joined forces to stop them from eradicating the entire northern continent which led to the collapse of his Empire and created a power vacuum in the Southern Continent admist of creating a Beserk Sea separating the two continents while the Primordials Demoness was heavily injured there she only descend near the end of the series.
