Sally is a supporting antagonist, before eventually redeeming himself and turning into an anti-hero of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. He was Basco ta Jolokia's former pet monkey and right-hand man. He served as Basco's top henchman, and served as the secondary antagonist for the most of Basco's appearances, before Basco eventually betrayed his loyal friend and companion and murdered Sally, but Sally still managed to redeem himself and posthumously helped Gokaigers defeat his former master.
His vocal effects were provided by Toru Omura.
Biography[]
Sally joined Basco sometime after Basco turned against his comrades in the Red Pirate Gang, AkaRed and Captain Marvelous. Basco and Sally traveled in the Free Joker, a modified Zangyack battleship, as they were allies of the empire.
In Basco's first appearance, he and his pet monkey attacked the Earth, when Gokaigers's bounties exceeded the bounties of the Red Pirates and when Gokaigers confronted the villains, the multi-colored heroes mistakenly thought Sally was Basco, because Basco was standing and hiding behind his humanoid pet monkey. Basco then revealed himself.
After the brief battle, Basco tpsent his Ranger Keys copies of the previous Sentai Rangers and Gokaigers fought the clones. However, the heroes were outnumbered and overpowered by the forces of Basco's crew and Basco eventually captured Marvelous's friends, bringing them to his ship. However, Marvelous managed to save his team and together the Gokaigers defeated the army of Basco's evil clones. The Gokaigers obtained the Ranger Keys of the clones, but Basco swore to get revenge on the pirate heroes.
Basco later tried to steal the powers of Hyuuga and Ryouma, the former Gingaman, but Gokaiges interfered and tried to stop the evil pirate crew. Despite, the Gokaiger's efforts to stop the villains from obtaining the Ranger Keys, Basco and Sally emerged victorious and fleed.
In their next appearance, Basco tried to steal the Ohrangers's powers from Horou Hoshino, and sent his armies of the Ranger Clones again tonfoght the Gokaigers. However, this time Gai saved the situation and blasted Sally with his guns, preventing the monkey from obtaining the remaining Ranger Keys.
Later, Basco tried to steal the powers of the Megarangers and sttacked Moroboshi High School. Gokaigers again fought the evil pirate and during the fight, Marvelous fought Sally and managed to beat the alien monkey, before the team tried to finish Sally, but Basco blocked their attacks, saving his friend and companion. In this situation, Basco proved that at some point, his attachment to Sally was genuine and he truly cared about her at some point. However, Basco would later subvert this honorable act in the finale.
Later, Basco was forced to help Damaras capture the Gokaigers, and Sally helped Zangyack general, but Basco was wrathful for Damaras's cruel treatment of him and his partner and betrayed Damaras, literally backstabbing the general and helping Gokaigers escape and defeat Damaras, because Basco still wanted to follow Gokaigers and obtain the Greatest Treasure in the Universe for himself. Ackdos Gill was wrathful and increased Basco's bounty for his head and also placed a small bounty for Sally's capture.
In the live-action movie, when Gokaigers encountered the Space Sheriff Gavan and wanted to save him, after the sheriff saved them, Basco informed the pirate Rangers of the prison whereabouts, only to lure the Gokaigers out of the Gokai Galleon and make the base be left unguarded, in order to obtain it. However, when Basco and Sally tried to sneak into the Galleon, Go-Busters team appeared and fought the villains. Basco was eventually overpowere and he tried to summon Sally to help him, but Yoko bribed Sally with bananas and prevented the monkey from helping her master. Basco and his animal companion were forced to retreat.
In Basco's final appearances, Basco eventually betrayed his loyal animal friend and partner and placed a necklace on Sally's neck, before blasting the monkey with his gun, severely wounding Sally. Gokaigers took Sally on their ship, and Sally was reluctant to betray the Gokaigers, because they saved her, but Basco threatened to kill her, if she refuses and so Sally had no choice. When Gokaigers confronted Basco, the evil pirate reveled his true plan of liquidating and getting rid of Marvelous and the villain blew up his poor monkey friend, when Sally turned to Marvelous's side. However, Sally wanted to get revenge on her evil former master and helped the Gokaigers defeat Basco for good, redeeming herself far beyond the grave.
