Biography[]
Early Life[]
Salvatore "Sal" DeLuca was born around the mid-to-late 1800's, and became heavily involved in gambling, prostitution and the distribution of alcohol. Sal used the money he gained to set up his own criminal organization, which became active around 1922. Around the 1920's, Sal hired Michael "Finn" O'Leary be his bookmaker, Billy Handsome as his hitman, and Albert "Weasel" Arlington as his money handler. His gang partook in turf wars, but Sal rarely got involved in any kind of violence and let Billy deal with his enemies.
Alcatraz[]
Around the 1930's, Sal was convicted of his crimes alongside Finn, Billy and Weasel, and was sentenced to Alcatraz. While in prison, Sal was talked into Weasel's plan to escape from Alcatraz alongside Finn and Billy, but the plan failed. Sal would later lure Weasel to the roof of the prison, and murder him alongside Billy and Finn for failing to help them escape. The three were then sentenced to death, and they were executed via electric chair on January 19th, 1934.
Mob of the Dead[]
Sal and the group awoke in Alcatraz with no memory of their past attempt to escape, and when they attempted to do so once again, were attacked by zombies. While trying to escape from the zombies, Sal locked a gate behind him before Billy could get through, but DeLuca was killed by zombies himself. Sal and the group were then sent to the afterlife, where they could revive themselves and fight zombies and the warden. While in the hellish iteration of the prison, Sal and the group learned that their plan to escape via a makeshift plane failed, and that they murdered Weasel when it did. After killing Weasel, Sal and his two mobsters (Fin and Billy) were sentence to death by electric chairs by the Warden.
Sal, Finn and Billy decide to murder Weasel again, and if they succeed in doing so, the cycle continues, and they can revive themselves. If Weasel kills the three mobsters, he will turn into a bird spirit, where he roams around the island free.
Blood of the Dead[]
Sal and the other mobsters appear in "Blood of the Dead" as a form of a spirit that roams around Alcatraz and helps the Primis crew by grabbing the warden along with Billy and Finn. Sal and the others are released from purgatory along with all the other souls trapped in the realm and was presumably erased from existence when Nikolai used the Argathan device.
