Sam Blakely is the minor antagonist of The Mentalist TV-show. He is another corrupt official, who is arrested by Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon's team. He is played by Steve Braun.
Biography[]
One day, Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon's team is called to investigate another murder. A certain Dale Blakely and his mistress are killed. A rookie police officer, Sam Blakely, the son of the murdered man, takes part in the investigation. The investigation begins. It is revealed that the deceased was involved in drug trafficking. The wife of the deceased (who, accordingly, is the mother of his son) is also interrogated. Then it turns out that Dale was killed by his son Sam. Sam explains that he suspected his father was having an affair and, disgusted with Dale's hypocrisy, he went to the motel to find out the truth, hoping to catch his father meeting Madigan. When Sam entered the room, he saw Purcell and Madigan. Purcell drew his gun and began firing so Sam returned fire, accidentally killing both Purcell and Madigan in the crossfire. Sam panicked and left. As he was driving away, dispatch sent him back to the crime scene. Dale confesses that Patrice was actually his illegitimate daughter. Her mother was dying and called him four years ago to tell him about her. He hadn't told his wife until now because he didn't want to hurt her.
