Sammy (real name Jessica Hurney) is a major character in the 2024 horror comedy film Abigail.
She was a originally a thrill-seeking hacker from a wealthy upbringing, hired by Lambert to join a group of kidnappers in capturing a vampire named Abigail Lazar; daughter of Kristof Lazar, a powerful vampiric crime lord whom the kidnappers seek to extract $50 million from in exchange for her release. Eventually, she was turned into a puppet vampire by Abigail.
She was portrayed by Kathryn Newton, who also played a disguised Ditto in Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, a possessing Blissfield Butcher in Freaky and Lisa Swallows in Lisa Frankenstein.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Jessica started her career siphoning money from her affluent parents’ bank accounts. Hedge funds came next, then private offshore accounts, and eventually, Kristof Lazar.
Abigail[]
Jessica is introduced alongside the other kidnappers. After they succeed, Lambert guides her and the other kidnappers to a spooky old manor to lay low and collect the ransom money. Upon discovering it's Kristof Lazar's daughter the group freaks out. Things only get worse when their victim is revealed to be a vampire who purposely got herself kidnapped.
After Abigail escapes the group's trap, Sammy teams up with Peter to find the power source of the manor, while Frank and Joey take a separate route, only for Sammy to be offed shortly after thanks to Abigail's bite allowing her to mind control her. Abigail turns Sammy fully and controls her into killing Peter and going after the sole survivors. However, Frank and Joey managed to kill Sammy with the power of sunlight.

- Vampire Physiology: All of the base level vampire powers such as superhuman strength and speed, as well as regeneration.
Weaknesses[]
- Sunlight: Once turned Sammy became susceptible to ultraviolet light as it explodes her apart.
- Lack of reflection: Pre-transformation she notices that her body began to lose sign of having a reflection in mirrors any longer.
