Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
The sand trolls, also known colllectively as the Farraki trolls orSandfury Trolls, are a hostile and malevolent subgroup of trolls in the World of Warcraft universe. Native to the desert region of Tanaris, the sandy trolls inhabit the vast, trap-ridden city of Zul'Farrak, a once-great temple complex that has since devolved into a haunted fortress of blood cults, undead guardians, and unholy rituals.
Descendants of the ancient Gurubashi Empire, the sand trolls have long since abandoned diplomacy or unity with other trollkind. Isolated, fanatical, and deeply corrupted by dark magic, they turned to necromancy, voodoo, and elemental rituals to preserve their dwindling power in the face of extinction. The tribe now functions as a cruel theocracy where priests and witch doctors rule through fear, sacrifice, and communion with ancient loa.
The sand trolls are considered one of the most dangerous troll factions in Azeroth, infamous for their mummified warriors, undead legions, and devotion to twisted blood rites meant to appease their gods and resurrect their ancient dominion.
The Farraki once stood proudly among the many tribes of the Gurubashi Empire, holding sacred dominion over the scorching sands of southern Kalimdor. They were deeply spiritual and maintained strong ties with the loa, nature spirits whom they revered through complex rituals and ceremonies. As the Gurubashi Empire collapsed, the Farraki grew increasingly isolated in the region now known as Tanaris.
Over time, the unforgiving sands took their toll. Besieged by external threats and internal decay, the Sandfury turned toward darker methods of survival. They embraced forbidden necromantic arts, raised undead warriors to defend their sacred city, and began sacrificing outsiders—and their own kin—to ensure the favor of their loa.
By the time of the events of World of Warcraft, the Farraki are a paranoid, bloodthirsty remnant of a fallen civilization, obsessed with protecting their cursed temple and reclaiming lost glory. Zul'Farrak itself has become a place of legend—a city of death where even the tombs walk, and the air is heavy with the scent of rot and ancient betrayal.
Culture[]
The Sandfury are among the most xenophobic, cruel, and fanatically devoted of all troll tribes. They consider their race superior to all others, and their ancient traditions sacred and immutable. The tribe has long forsaken diplomacy, and views all outsiders as defilers of their holy city—worthy only of sacrifice or slavery.
Their culture is built upon fear, ritual, and suffering. They maintain a strict hierarchy in which spiritual leaders hold absolute power, commanding both the living and the dead. Their paranoia and religious extremism have pushed them into a self-destructive spiral, blindly clinging to power as their numbers dwindle and their enemies close in.
Powers and Abilities[]
Sandfury Mummies
The Farraki are formidable enemies due to their mastery of both traditional troll warfare and dark supernatural forces. Their warriors are swift, agile, and merciless, while their spellcasters wield voodoo magic, curses, and life-draining rituals. They are especially notorious for their ability to raise and control undead, creating a terrifying army of mummies, zombies, and skeletal guardians that patrol Zul'Farrak's ruins.
Notable Powers:[]
Necromancy: Many Sandfury priests can reanimate corpses and bind the spirits of the dead into servitude, often preserving their bodies through elaborate mummification.
Undead Creation: From rotting zombies to powerful sentient mummies, the Farraki command legions of undead warriors drawn from ancient tombs and sacrificial victims.
Voodoo Curses: Using blood magic and spiritual channeling, Sandfury casters can hex, weaken, or mentally torment their enemies with debilitating curses.
Elemental Command: Certain high-ranking members, such as Hydromancer Velratha, wield elemental power, particularly over water and sand.
Tribal Savagery: Even without magic, Farraki warriors are deadly fighters known for ambush tactics, spearwork, and brutal melee proficiency.
