Biography[]
Early Life[]
Before being hired by Arasaka, Oda was trained by Goro Takemura as a highly-skilled security detail. They shared battle experiences and gained mutual respect and managed to achieve camaraderie. Acknowledging an honorable debt to be called upon when needed, Oda's skills were recognized by Arasaka and he was later hired to be Hanako Arasaka's personal bodyguard.
Cyberpunk 2077[]
Oda arrived at Night City on the Arasaka Corporation carrier with Hanako, later Hanako's father, Saburo, was killed suddenly. This set the tone for the upcoming Dashi parade, this incited suspicion in Oda. Who was aware the event had been organized
After the following days, Oda was contacted by Takemura who requested a meeting. At this point, his old mentor had been accused of being an accomplice of the murder of Saburo. So the interaction that was made between Takemura and Oda was under the radar of official channels, to show some sort of trust Oda arrived alone to the meeting. He listened to Takemura and his witness V, Once he realized that V had really witnessed what happened in Konpeki Palace, Oda told them to stop talking. Oda had no interest in Arasaka's family affairs and drama, he recognized that upsetting the superficial balance by pulling the curtains from the public could end badly.
Before leaving, he gives V and Takemura a warning, stating that next time he sees them he won't be so happy and won't show leniency. After this. Oda focused strictly on keeping Hanako safe.
During the parade, Oda's concerns are realized. After speaking to Adam Smasher, the head of Arasaka security, the outrage was expressed over the lack of proper safety measures and directly questioned choices made by Yorinobu Arasaka. Only for Smasher to dismiss his concerns, eventually, he had to leave Hanako's side and deal with V, who was climbing their way to the Arasaka net runner. He caught V in the act and kept his promise of not showing leniency.
The two battled it out together, V won the fight and was given the choice to either kill him or spare him. If spared, Oda will have time to heal from his injuries, Oda would lose his pride in battle after this fight. If killed by V, Takemura would express anger toward his decision, saying that he will remember what V had done.
If the player spares Oda, saves Takemura and chooses the Devil ending, then Oda will be present to reluctantly assist V and Takemura during their raid on Arasaka Tower on Hanako's behalf.
