Sandi is the main antagonist of the MacGyver episode "The Human Factor".
She was voiced by an unknown voice actress.
Biography[]
Sandi is first introduced to MacGyver and Peter Thornton by the scientist Dr. Jill Ludlum and the Colonel in charge of STRADA, Scott Woodward. MacGyver is challenged to break into Sandi's mountain complex; Should he fail, Sandi and STRADA would get the Phoenix Foundation seal of approval or if MacGyver succeeds, STRADA would go back to the drawing board. When Thornton stands on the entrance floor, Sandi activates a laser shield at the front door which can keep out and trap inside intruders.
Sandi also shows defensive security heat seeking drones. When the system goes online, Ludlum has eliminated the human factor allowing Sandi to completely protect the entire complex without even human guards.
That night, the guards and Ludlum's assistant Steven Lee await on the outside confident that Sandi will catch MacGyver within fifteen minutes. Outside, MacGyver sneaks in using a guard's truck unseen and uses a makeshift scope to learn the code for entry, four-seven-one-zero. Even without a card key, MacGyver uses rope to walk across the booby trapped floor and center the code. Inside, he scalps some plaster off the wall for prints and uses his jacket to get Woodward's handprint copied.
MacGyver makes it to Ludlum's control room but when Ludlum and the Phoenix agent converse, Sandi begins to go haywire, thinking she is actually under attack, not recognizing Ludlum's voice, greeting the two as intruders and begins Stage One Security alert.
With thirty minutes until the oxygen runs out, Sandi also prevents Steven from countering her security and overloads a computer which MacGyver and Ludlum are trying to override her control with. Outside, she activated EVAC ONE preventing Woodward's troupe from coming to MacGyver's rescue at the main entrance and has one of her security cameras fire an electric shock laser at the worker. Sandi also refuses Ludlum's key card and with only twenty minutes left, MacGyver uses a cleaning cart and mirrors to bypass a wall of lasers blocking the path. Trying to get into the inner core, Sandi sics one of the ehat seeker drones on the two.
She also tries to kill the trapped duo in a garbage disposal room if not for his pants as a guideline. The power station shuts down and Sandi goes offline leaving only emergency lights. But then, Sandi bypasses the power outage and puts the generators under her control. MacGyver outsmarts the heat seeker drones in the lab turning some of their own lasers against one another while Sandi sends the last remaining drone to her control room.
Sandi also has two escape routes one in the maintenance shaft, and the exhaust outlet protected by explosives which will detonate if MacGyver tries to escape without disarming any one of the bombs. MacGyver and Ludlum make it to the exhaust outlet and disconnect the fan, but Sandi seals them with an airtight door to make certain the two die from lack of oxygen. With no time to make it back to the entrance, MacGyver moves to overload Sandi's circuitry but Sandi supercharges the disconnected cable. MacGyver forces the cable aimed at the control box overloading Sandi until her voice begins to weaken and she shuts down.
After this, MacGyver opens the airtight door manually just in time to find Pete outside who insists on getting oxygen tanks. For Ludlum, it would take a while to fix the system.
