The Sani-Tour Bus Driver is the main antagonist in the episode "I See London, I See France" of Rocko's Modern Life.
He was voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voiced Heffer and Mr. Smitty in the show.
Biography[]
He appears in France as a Tour Bus Driver, with Rocko and Heffer among his passengers, but he does some other things that have nothing to do with France. Throughout the episode, he shows signs of clinical insanity and is absolutely obsessed about the tour going his way and fear of losing his job, to which he is overly devoted.
When Rocko asks when they would see the Eiffel Tower, he doesn't honestly give a hoot about it, all he does is tell about the most questionable tourist attractions such as a garbage can or bacon shaped clouds, but when Rocko talks about the Eiffel Tower to Heffer and the other tourists' interest, he yells "Hello?! Have we all forgotten who's giving the tour here?!". Afterwards, everybody gets nervous and goes back to their seats. Next thing, Rocko sees his love outside, he says to the Bus Driver that he missed the Eiffel Tower, but the Bus Driver stops the bus, goes up to Rocko, and then starts to angrily yell at him to make him forget about the Eiffel Tower and do what he says. After Chokey Chicken for lunch, with the Bus Driver distracted, Rocko escapes the tour to follow his crush.
Meanwhile at the Sani-Tour Bus, the Bus Driver checks the numbers, but he's missing passenger Number 11 (who is Rocko). He starts losing his temper and yelling at Number 13 (who is Heffer) that he wants to know where Number 11 is. When the Bus Driver gets worried about losing his job, he looks at his picture of his wife and kids, but it's shown to be just a picture of a bowl of fruits. Heffer, now realizing the Bus Driver's true psychopathic nature, gets scared and is about to escape out the window, but the Bus Driver snaps and goes stark raving mad. He angrily screams at Heffer to make him get back on his bus, but Heffer refuses and runs off. The Bus Driver goes chasing after Heffer in a fit of a rage while driving his bus. During the chase he briefly calmy tells the passengers the louvre while madly driving through it.
In the end, when Rocko and Heffer are on the airplane, the crazy Bus Driver chases the plane and yells at them to get back on the bus. When the plane takes off, he goes out of the bus and runs after the plane, but he is too late because the plane already flies away to his devastation. It's unknown what happened to the Bus Driver, but he most likely got fired fron his job due to his psychotic behavior, not caring about the real tour and nearly killing tourists.
Personality[]
“ | You're lucky you left when you did, that tour guide went nuts! | „ |
~ Heffer describing the crazy bus driver. |
He is very devoted about his job more than everything. He doesn't like people questioning his authority as a bus driver. However, he is not very good at his job, as his idea of a tour is showing boring things and rather tacky sensational takes like trash cans, bacon-shaped clouds and ugly people, and doesn’t care what the tourists want or France's history, like he first ignored Rocko's question about he Eiffel tower or even refusing to drive there. He is a very crazed person when people who don't obey his orders and leaves his tour or exits the bus. He mentioned he had a family like wife and two kids, but this is also questionable as he held a picture of a fruit bowl, implying he's delusional.

Trivia[]
- Despite the Bus Driver only appearing in one episode of the series, he is very popular among fans.
- It's highly likely that the reason why he shows things that have nothing to do with France is because he just does it for the money or because he's in a rush.
- Funny enough aside from his shared voice actor, his attire's the same colors Spongebob's attire is.
- His bus tour being labeled Sani-tour is an obvious pun on Sanity.
- Despite his apathy towards national landmarks in London, the Bus Driver at one point politely lets the people he is guiding know about the Louvre.
