The Santa Blanca Cartel is the main antagonistic faction of the video game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
History[]
The Santa Blanca drug Cartel was a dangerous Mexican drug cartel and criminal organization that controlled most of Bolivia in the near future. Their organization went unnoticed by the outside world until the Cartel caught and killed DEA agent Ricardo "Ricky" Sandoval. In response to this, the U.S government sent C.I.A agent Karen Bowman and a team of 4 Ghost Recon operators to shut down the cartel's operations. The cartel was then then fully destabilized by the Ghost Recon team following Operation: Kingslayer.
Operation: Narco Road[]
Operation: Narco Road was a splinter operation of Operation: Kingslayer, it consisted of an experienced unnamed Ghost Recon agent infiltrating the Cartel posing as a mercenary. The main goal of this operation was to expose El Sueño's best smuggler.
Aftermath of Operation: Kingslayer[]
With Nomad and his Ghost Recon team successfully killing and capturing the high-level members of the cartel, they eventually manage to locate El Sueño. Depending on how much the team dismantles the cartel, there are two possible outcomes. If the cartel is dismantled 100%, El Sueno is captured and becomes an informant. After running out of intel, he is extradited back to Bolivia but managing to escape from prison with a laundry truck. He then goes to South American and creates a successor organization of Santa Blanca, which is far stronger than the old cartel.
If the team does not dismantle the cartel totally, El Sueno is killed and the cartel splits into smaller cartels and starts fighting among each other.
