Sarracenian is a Shocker Kaijin with the characteristics of the carnivorous plant Sarracenia and an antagonist in episode 4 of the original 1971 Kamen Rider series.
He was voiced by Tetsuya Kaji in episode 4 and by Minoru Iizuka in episode 27.
History[]
Sarracenian was exhibited as "King Sarracenia" in the greenhouse of Mukogaoka Amusement Park. He later abducted Yukie, the sister of Kenji Miyashita, and brought him back to the hideout. After that, it was reported that Takeshi Hongo had captured Combatant No. 3, and Sarracenian set out to dispose of No. 3 at the command of the Great Leader of Shocker before he could divulge any information. He appears in Ruriko Midorikawa's room and attacks Ruriko, but Kamen Rider returned after rescuing Yukie from the hideout and faced him. Sarracenian fought the Rider with his ivy whips, but was defeated by a Rider Kick.
It was later reconstructed in episodes 13 and 27, and in the movie "Kamen Rider vs. Shocker".
Powers and Abilities[]
Sarracenian can use its ivy vines to catch humans and drag them into the ground.
