Sassy is the lackey of Melinda the Mean and a minor antagonist in Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz. They are both introduced in the Season 1 episode Sister Sister as it's main antagonists.
She was voiced by Laraine Newman, who also voiced Wicked Witch of the West in the same series.
History[]
Sister Sister[]
She is first seen eating a fly when Dorothy and Toto appear to invite both her and Melinda to Glinda's celebration with the Munchkins.
Melinda explains Sassy her goal to surpass Glinda as the most loved witch in Munchkin Land, much to the lizard's delight and amusement.
Sassy dresses as a Munchkin then to trick Glinda into going to a dragon's cave while Melinda disguises as her sister in order to ruin her reputation in Munchkin Land by bringing the chaos with a candy tornado.
When Dorothy is trying to protect Glinda's image, Sassy accidentally reveals Melinda's identity before briefly trying to erase it, but the Mayor of Munchkin Land recognizes her as Melinda's lackey.
After Melinda was exposed, Toto chases after Sassy out of Munchkin Land when she tries to escape from his friends.
The New Beast in the East[]
Melinda makes a return with Sassy in Season 3 to ruin the Munchkins' lazyness.
When Dorothy and her friends arrive after being informed by a Munchkin (to which Sassy is not surprised), Melinda tries to attack them, only for her magic to be pacified by Dorothy and her Ruby Slippers. Melinda then flees to her house with Sassy trying to figure a way to defeat Dorothy as soon as she gets her offensive magic back.
Sassy suggests her to form an alliance with the Wicked Witch of the West, as she got her powers back, so Sassy goes to her castle (against Melinda's protests) to offer an alliance with her, Wilhelmina, Frank and Lyman (though at first, the Wicked Witch appears scared of her thinking that she's a monster, but Wilhelmina calms her auntie down claiming that it's just Sassy, thus revealing that she knows her).
Then, Melinda returns to Munchkin Land with Sassy, the Wicked Witch, Wilhelmina, Frank and Lyman to get revenge on Dorothy and the Munchkins. They tie up Dorothy and her friends with magic and the Wicked Witch restores Melinda's offensive magic, but despite this, Melinda still don't wanted to work with the other villains, so they attack her.
Dorothy comes up with an idea to defeat the villains using the Munchkins' sweetmeats against them (much to Frank and Lyman's horror), thus getting all them out of Munchkin Land.
Sassy and Melinda are not seen again.
