Scab is a supporting antagonist of Batman Beyond, Leader and sometimes a second in command of a small war party of the Jokerz.
He was voiced by Marc Worden who voiced Coe in the same show, and the second Parasite in Justice League Unlimited Epilouge.
History[]
Scab became a member of the Jokerz at some point before Terry became Batman, becoming close friends with Coe and J-Man and eventually worked his way as the leader his own branch of Jokerz, but often it is shown J-Man is usually the leader, or Scab is a alternate leader at times.
One morning on a elevator, Terry witnessed Scab arrive in his elevator. He vandalized a newsscreen with spray paint, and noticed a woman react. Taking this advantage, he asked the woman for credits, for the show, claiming she gave funny as in laugh, and he wants money, the woman claims to not found humor in the so called joke, so he steals her purse, but Terry manages to get it back by whamming Scab. Scab imitates Terry by doing kung fu poses and leaves.
Later at Club 99 at night, Scab along with J-Man and his team arrive Club 99, where Terry coincidentally arrives. The Jokerz assault Nelson Nash and Dana Tan. Then Terry steps in and saves Dana from J-Man. Scab and his group go after Terry who takes one of their bikes and rides all across town, and meets with an old man, demanding the Jokerz who followed to leave as they were trespassing his home. Bruce and Terry bravely fought the Jokerz and forcing them flee.
Scab reappears as a major antagonist in Joyride, where he along with Coe and newbie Lee. Lee interested in the Jokerz, is taken to a nearby cave for his final test. During the inhiation a lone pod craft lands in a nearby hill. Coe thinks its a spaceship, but Scab thinks its Fat T and T's spying on them, their archenemies but it is actually several government pilots, that Scab and Coe run over with their motorcycles.
Scab, Coe and Lee, take the ship for themselves, unsure what it does at first, only to discover it has weapons, giving Scab an advantage. Scab fly the ship around the city, and learn from a woman or at least try to, of its current condition and that it is government property, however Scab ignores her warnings of the ship containing a nuclear bomb, and arrives to a nearby alleyway to bolster more Jokerz including J-man to cause mayhem in Gotham.
They cause a ruckus at a nearby burger restaurant, destroying a sign, and running over customers, which catches the attention of Batman. Scab uses the ship to beat Batman with his batmobile in a Dog Fight, when they force him onto the ground. Scab orders his team to finish him off up close and personal. Lee watches as Scab and the Jokerz fail to dispatch Batman, going back to the ship as a means to end him only to be stopped by the same woman from before in another spacecraft.
Scab and the Jokerz then kill several members of T's and decide to then take the fight to their hideout, however they are stopped by Batman and the Government agent. Coe worried they might crash into her ship, turns the ship to other side, causing damage to the surface, and forcing them to stop.
Scab and J-Man are able to get the ship active, but accidentally leave Coe behind who spills the information to Batman about going to kill the main T's at their subway hangout.
Batman is able to get there first, and a brief fight is able to get the T's to leave. Scab and the Jokerz arrive only to find none of the T's, but still destroy their hideout, allowing Batman to trap them in a pillar and taking them down from surprise, forcing Scab to pull away from the pillar beam, that ends up smashing the ship and send it crashing to a nearby wall.
The other Jokerz leave, Batman goes into the ship to disable it, but is temporality subdued by Scab. Batman pleads to the Jokerz leader that the reactor will cause the ship to explode, killing him and the city, but Scab ignores his pleas, and calling his bluff. But this leads to Batman calling the latter insane, Scad declares for once in his life he has real power, with Batman admitting that the Jokerz never gave such a thing. Scab calls his bluff thinking of them as a crutch, this is heard by Lee who returns, and stops Scab from killing Batman. Batman is able to stop the reactor from exploding, Lee however resigns from the Jokerz, upon seeing them as cowards, leaving in digust. Batman does the same, while Scab recovering attempts to reactivate the ship, but surprisingly in a shock twist, begins to have a mental breakdown, pressing buttons, followed by slamming his hands hard on the control panels, and screaming like a manic.
Scab eventually returns to the Jokerz, and learns Batman and Ten attempt to rescue the Royal Flush Gang, Ten leaves, but Batman discovers the Royal Flush Gang are not there, Scab along with the Jokerz gang up on Batman but Batman's batmobile arrives to escort him out of the Jokerz's hangout.
Scab is seen in Curse of Kobra, where J-Man leads an attack at an arcade, where Zander attacks them and they all escape. Scab is then seen one last time in Future Shock, where Coe leads Static and Terry into a trap, along with Scab and other Jokerz are defeated.
Appearance[]
Scab wears a red t-shirt and black tank top, and a grey jeans, his right hand carries a red glove. He wears a head hat cover similar to Harley Quinn's with only one horn instead of two, his face often carries a painted smile mask to purposely showcase him truly to be comedic.
Personality[]
Like many of the Jokerz, Scab is a typical comedic goon of a character, only pulling pranks and threaten or assaulting innocents all for a joke. In his own titular episode Joyride, it is shown, he is more of a power hungry figure. When encountering an abandoned Government ship, he finds enjoyment and pleasure out of its gifts, seeing it as a means to get what he wants and finding true power out of the vehicle, regardless if the ship would kill him and everyone else in the process. Like his predecessor and possible idol the Joker, he shows no remorse or sympathy towards his comrades, even his own close friends like J-Man and Coe, seeing them as moral support. Lee a former rookie for the Jokerz witness his true words firsthand, and turns his back on the Jokerz. Then after Batman deactivates the ship, does his true emotions and feelings emerge, expressing a level of instability and dysfunction like a spoiled child.
