“ | The nation of Höllvania has responded to the Techrot outbreak with ruthless aggression. Introducing The Scaldra, a new faction for you to test your mettle against in Warframe: 1999. | „ |
~ Official Warframe Website |
The Scaldra are supporting antagonists in the MMO third-person shooter Warframe.
The official military force of the city-state of Höllvania in the year 1999, the Scaldra have declared martial law in an effort to contain the Techrot outbreak, a mutagenic disease that can infect organics and electronics alike. While their goal of eliminating the Techrot from Höllvania seems noble on the surface, they are extremely callous in their usage of Efervon gas and often do so even when non-infected citizens are present and shoot those who are out past their established curfew.
Under the command of Major Neci Rusalka and later Lieutenant Viktor Vodyanoi, they also spend considerable resources in tracking down Albrecht Entrati and eliminating members of the Hex, a resistance group of Protoframes that seek to free Höllvania from Scaldra's rule.
History[]
In the wake of the Techrot appearing in the streets and underground of Höllvania, the Höllvanian government formed the Scaldra to fight back against this monstrous threat. To do this, Scaldra employs Efervon gas to fumigate infected areas and buildings, although they care little about whether or not living, non-infected citizens are present.
Scaldra troops also utilize Efervon-infused weapons and equipment, which they use to contain and neutralize the roaming masses of Techrot that appear from Höllvania's sewer and subway systems, although they rarely venture deep into these areas. Large quarantine tents cover buildings suspected to be infected with Techrot and armored APCs carry Scaldra troops to hot zones.
