Scammers are minor antagonists in the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
They are a group of stalkers that "sell a Gauss rifle for cheap" at the Pig Farm in the Dark Valley, only be later reviled as a bunch of scammers.
History[]
After the player can ask Bullet about the location, including the pig farm where the scammers located, in which Bullet tell that they don't make a "good impression". After the player walks a bit farther he can help an injured stalker, in return the stalker will inform Mechenyj about a group of stalkers in the south who "sell" a gauss rifle for "only 800".
The player can encounter the Scammers in the south on a abandoned pig farm, where the leader will try to convince the player to "buy" the gauss rifle for 800. After Mechenyj hands the 800, the leader will retreat farm building and taunt the player, and tell them off. Attempting to follow him inside will turn him and his entire group hostile.
Interestingly, usually the player encounters the group only after acquiring the documents from X-18, which means at that point Vampire and Clumsy will probably be a part of the group.
Also, it's possible that Oleg "Fiend" Gusarov from the Bar and/or Smartass from the Military Warehouse will join this group. However. It happens rarely, especially with Smartass.
Membership[]
The group is originally consisted of 5 members, including the leader. In which, 2 guards and 2 supporters. However, as the time progresses the group can grew bigger up to theoretically 10 members including the leader:
- Stalker from the Gas Station, he is a free stalker the player originally encounters right before entering the bandits' base and who tells about the "deal" the scammers offer. Supposedly, he is also a member who simply was send to drag more people in this scheme.
- Vampire and Clumsy, are a duo from Garbage with a very unsavory reputation: Vampire for his oddly good luck and Clumsy for his incompetence and uselessness.
- Oleg "Fiend" Gusarov, a well-known experienced Loner, but allegedly, with a sinister goal. Originally wanders the Bar, but after X-16 will head to either Garbage or the Dark Valley
- Smartass, a Loner known for his hanit of bragging about his knowledge from the Military Warehouses.
If the player massacres the whole group, than it will be replaced by not 5, but 6 stalkers: One leader, 2 guards and 3 supporters. In this situation, theoretically can consist of 11 members.
Powers & Skills[]
- Deception: The group scams stalkers by offering them a deal: Buy a Gauss Rifle for only 800 rubles. Only for them to later threaten the stalker and scare them away and if they refuse, they will attempt to kill them.
- Guitarist Knowledge: Scammers around the campfire inside the Pig Farm, occasionally will play on guitar in between telling jokes to each other.
