...until Zazu interferes

“Oh, now look, Zazu, you've made me lose my lunch.”

“Oooh, I quiver with fear!”

Scar tries to eat Zazu...

...but Mufasa arrives...

...and forces him to spit him out.

"Why, if it isn't my big brother descending from on high to mingle with the commoners!"

“Ooh, I feel simply awful.”

Scar rakes his claws on the rock.

“Must have slipped my mind.”

“Well, I was first in line... until the little hairball was born.”

"Oh, I shall practice my courtesy."

"Oh, no, Mufasa. Perhaps you shouldn't turn your back on me."

"Temper. Temper. I wouldn't dream of challenging you."

"As far as the brains go, I got the lion’s share."

“But when it comes to brute strength...”

“I’m afraid I’m in the shallow end of the gene pool.”

"I despise guessing games."

"Simba. Simba. I'm only looking out for the wellbeing of my favorite nephew."

“All the more reason for me to be protective... An elephant graveyard is no place for a young prince...”

“...Oops!”

“Oh dear, I've said too much...”

Scar glares furiously after Mufasa saves Simba and Nala from Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, starting to reveal his darker role in the film.

"Oh, surely we lions aren't all that bad." Scar reveals himself to the Hyena Clan.

"I'm surrounded by idiots."

"I don't think you really deserve this."

"I practically gift-wrapped those cubs for you..."

"...and you couldn't even dispose of them."

(Banzai: "What're we supposed to do? Kill Mufasa?")

"Precisely." Scar's evil grin

Scar begins his song "Be Prepared"

"I know that your powers of retention..."

"...are as wet as a warthog's backside."

"But thick as you are, PAY ATTENTION!"

"My words are a matter of pride."

"It's clear seen from your vacant expressions, the light are not all upstairs."

"But here we're talking kings and successions."

"Even you can't be caught unawares."

"Prepare for a chance of a lifetime."

"Be prepared for sensational news."

"A shining new era..."

"...is tiptoeing nearer."

(Shenzi: And where do we feature?) "Just listen to teacher."

"I know it sounds sordid but you'll be rewarded when at last when I am given my dues..."

"...and injustice deliciously squared,..."

"...be prepared!"

"Idiots! There will be a king."

"I will be king!"

"Stick with me,..."

"...and you'll never go hungry again!"

"Of coarse, quid pro quo, you're expected, to take certain duties on board."

"The future is littered with prizes..."

"...though I'm the main addressee."

"But the point I must emphasize is..."

"...YOU WON’T GET A SNIFF WITHOUT ME!"

"Be prepared for the coup of the century."

"Be prepared for the murkiest scam!"

"Meticulous planning."

"Decades of denial! Is simply why I'll.."

Scar lures Simba into the gorge and tells him to wait there for Mufasa

(Simba: Hey, Uncle Scar, will I like the surprise?)
"Simba, it's to DIE for!"

"Long live the king." - Scar showing his true nature to a horrified Mufasa with his last words to his brother.

"Run away, Simba. Run. Run away and never return."

"Kill him."

"We shall rise, to reach the dawn of a new era, in which lion and hyena come together, in a great, glorious future!" Scar rising to power.

"You know the law. Never ever mention that name in my presence. I am the king!"

"What did you say?" (Banzai: I said Que pasa?)

"SARABI!!"

"I'M TEN TIMES THE KING MUFASA WAS!"

“Mufasa? No! You're dead!”

“Simba? Simba! Oh, I'm a little surprised to see you...alive.”

"You see!? He admits it! MURDERER!!"

(Simba: No! It was an accident!) "If it weren't for you, Mufasa would still be alive! It's your fault he's dead! Do you deny it?!"

(Simba: No.) "Then you're guilty!"

(Simba: No, I'm not a murderer!) "Oh, Simba, you're in trouble again."

"But this time, Daddy isn't here to save you."

"And now everyone knows..."

"...WHY!!"

"Now, this looks familiar. Hmm. Where have I seen this before? Let me think. Hmmm... hmmm."

"Oh! Yes, I remember! This is just the way your father looked before he died."

Scar digging his claws into Simba's paws, just as he did to Mufasa

"And here's my little secret."

"I killed Mufasa..." Scar gloating to Simba about having killed Mufasa, planning to immediately throw him into the fire afterwards.

"No Simba, please!"
Simba chokes Scar forcing him to reveal he killed Mufasa in front of everyone.

(choking) "Alright. Alright! I did it."

"I KILLED MUFASA!"
Scar reveals the truth to everyone.

Scar after being spotted by Simba.

Scar chased by Simba...

...but stops just in time at the edge of a cliff, now trapped.

"Simba, please. Mercy, I beg you.” (Simba: You don't deserve to live.)

"But, Simba, I am... uh... family!" Scar hypocritically using the excuse that he and Simba are related by blood to convince the latter to spare his life.

"It was the hyenas who are the real enemies. It was their fault! It was their idea!"

("Simba: Why should I believe you? Everything you ever told me was a lie.")

"What are you gonna do? You wouldn't kill your own uncle?" (Simba: No, Scar. I'm not like you.)

"Oh, Simba, thank you! You are truly noble. And I will make it up to you. I promise!"

"How can I prove myself to you?"

"Tell me. I mean, anything."

(Simba: Run. Run away, Scar, and never return.)
Scar shocked hearing his nephew echoing his own words.

"Yes. Of course."

"As you wish..."

"...YOUR MAJESTY!" Scar foolishy ruining his one chance to live as he throws ashes at Simba, to blind him, initiating their final battle.

Scar fights Simba, trying to kill him quick after briefly blinding him with ashes but fails.

Simba and Scar fighting each other for the fate of the Pride Lands

Scar slapped in the face by Simba.

Simba slapped by Scar.

Scar raises a paw...

...and knocks Simba down.

Scar's breakdown as he lunges at Simba.

Simba throws Scar over the edge of Pride Rock

"Ah! My friends!"

Scar's eyes widen with horror upon seeing the hyenas have turned against him for blaming Mufasa's murder on them.

"No! L-L-Let me explain! No, you don't understand! No, I didn't mean—! I— NO! NO! I didn't... I-I was meant- I... NO NO! GAH! Scar becoming very scared, as he foolishly tries to lie again, despite how clear he already made it when he betrayed them.

Scar's well-deserved death as he is painfully mauled to death by his own hyenas for all of his lies and treachery. Ending his reign of terror.

The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride

"GOTCHA!! Trust me!!"-Scar stops Simba from saving Mufasa.

Scar's reflection takes the place of Kovu's in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride.

"THE ROAR IS A CURSE, KION! YOU'LL SEE! SISI NI SAWAAAA!!!!!!"- Scar's death as he's extinguished for good and sent back to hell where he belongs.

Scar's spirit appears in place of Kion's reflection.
