Scarlet Valentine, also known as the First Lady, is a minor antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run. She is the wife of Funny Valentine who first appears in the Tubular Bells story arc. Scarlet is protective of her husband and is willing to kill anyone that threatens her husband's life.
Appearance[]
Physically, Scarlet is a skinny women with long black hair with some tied up with several rings, in which creates a ponytail, and has fair skin. Scarlet wears a pink short sleeveless dress that has a heart shaped symbol on it. Underneath her dress, she wears a dark bodysuit that has crown symbols on it.

Background[]
Scarlet met Funny Valentine at a house party in her hometown in 1875. When they were dancing, she noted that Funny does not make sounds when walking and has the ability to play Mozart on a violin with his feet. The two fell in love and would later get married. When Funny Valentine became president, she became First Lady of the United States and has been by his side ever since.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run[]
Scarlet Valentine seeks her husband in Chicago but encounters Lucy Steel, wife of Steven Steel, while walking in a park. She first sees Lucy reading the Sherlock Holmes book The Sign of Four. Scarlet, having read the book before, was still excited until Lucy accidentally falls on Scarlet but sneakily pinch her nipple and licked her neck. Instead of being disturb by the questionable behavior that Lucy just displayed, Scarlet believes that Lucy has the same taste in women as her and leads Lucy to the Presidential residence. Scarlet wants to know Lucy more and wanted to have a conversation with her while having tea.
She explains to Lucy Steel about her relationship with Funny Valentine but quickly changes the subject. Scarlet tries to seduce the young girl without knowing that Lucy was planning something. Scarlet wants Lucy to yell out her name while sitting on her face but fell asleep before doing so. Lucy spiked Scarlet's tea with a sleeping agent so she can get close to her husband, Funny Valentine. Later, Scarlet wakes up and looks for Lucy, only to find her in Funny Valentine's bedroom, whos sleeping for the moment. Now seeing Lucy as a threat, tries to shoot her with her gun that she keeps around. But Lucy tackles the First Lady but Scarlet manages to pin her down, hoping Mike O.'s tubular bell nail balloons kill her. However, since the balloons where only attracted to her disguise as the First Lady, Lucy shed the skin of the her disguise, allowing the nail balloons to go towards Scarlet. The nail balloons pops, in which impales Scarlet's head, killing her.
Scarlet's body is then thrown into the Fox River by Hot Pants, so Lucy can continue her disguise as the First Lady and mislead Funny Valentine for the corpse parts. Afterwards, when Funny Valentine discovers that Lucy is disguised as his wife and finds his wife's corpse, he hold no reaction of discovering Scarlet's death, which suggest Funny is either apathetic or did not care too much about his wife, who died trying to protect him.
Personality[]
From what's shown about Scarlet, she appears to be friendly, strong, and ambitious women. She is never shown to be shy and oddly open about herself and personal life, like explaining her relationship with her husband with Lucy and openly admitted to being attracted to men and women. Despite this, Scarlet is shown to be impulsive since she became easily attracted to Lucy and tried to seduce her to appeal to her fetish. But when it comes to violence, her personality will completely shift to shape that. When Scarlet discover Lucy in her husband's bedroom, she immediately pulls out a gun and tries to shoot her since she now views Lucy as a threat. She's also shown to be a little sadistic considering the fact she mention that she will have Lucy tortured and has a nail driven to Lucy's leg just to make her suffer.
