Stanley "Scorch" Smith is the main villain of the Ring Raiders franchise. He is the leader of the Skull Squadron, an organization of renegade pilots who harness the power of time travel.
In the cartoon, he was voiced by Roger Bumpass.
Biography[]
Stanley Smith, who was nicknamed Scorch, was a student at the Top Flight Academy and a friend of Victor Vector. Obsessed with being Number 1, Stanley challenged Victor to a competition to see who was the better pilot.
Stanley cheated and tried to crash Victor's plane, nearly sending it onto a group of kids. To cover his tracks, Stanley ran away. Victor tried to save him, but Stanley tried to get rid of him, only to get his face and his left arm wounded. Stanley was expelled from Top Flight Academy and nursed a growing resentment toward Victor.
Scorch kidnaps some scientists and forces them to do research to make him stronger. He then forms the Skull Squadron by persuading some evil pilots into his cause to rule the world. In response, Victor formed the Ring Raiders to stop them. However, Scorch did not forget Victor, and day after day, the Ring Raiders and the Skull Squadron do battle in the sky.
