Scorpio (real name Maxwell "Max" Fury) is a major antagonist in the 2010 Marvel Animated Universe series Ultimate Spider-Man. Scorpio is the leader of the Zodiac, the brother of Nick Fury and the arch-nemesis of Luke Cake/Power-Man.

He is voiced by Phil Morris, who also voiced Dru-Zod and Lor-Zod in Young Justice: Phantoms, Imperiex in Legion of Superheroes, Doc Monday in The Secret Saturdays, Vandal Savage the DC Animated Universe and his counterpart in the movie Justice League: Doom.

Not much is known about him except he is the bother of Nick Fury and has a grudge against him for reasons unknown and years ago he attacked the plane where Walter and Amanda Cage are flying in order to steal the Super Soldier serum and after Luke Cage survived and escaped, Scorpio captures them and lied to Walter and Amanda Cage about having their son in his cell.

The Zodiac took over the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and captured Spider-Man. Scorpio told Spider-Man that "Nick Fury is dead." Scorpio stated that this is the beginning of Zodiac's new orders as he tries to convince Spider-Man that Fury has lied to him. When Spider-Man made a comment about Scorpio's outfit making him look fat, Scorpio orders his soldiers to destroy Spider-Man. When Spider-Man falls into the Helicarrier, Scorpio orders his soldiers to find Spider-Man and make sure he doesn't get off the Helicarrier.

While locating for Fury's secrets, Scorpio tells Aries to find the secrets and then set the Helicarrier to self-destruct. Upon hearing Spider-Man's voice in the air vents, the Zodiac soldiers prepare to fire on the vent that Spider-Man is in as Scorpio hears him. Scorpio then orders his soldiers not to fire on the console. Scorpio then uses the Scorpio Key to attack Spider-Man only for him to escape into the air vents. Upon learning that Spider-Man is topside, Scorpio sends the Zodiac soldiers topside. Nick Fury dives the Helicarrier into the ocean as Fury fights Scorpio. Upon Spider-Man confiscating the Scorpio Key, Fury defeats Scorpio and discovers that it's his brother Max. Scorpio escapes into the water as Fury deactivates the self-destruct sequence.

The Parent Trap[]

Nick Fury alongside Phil Coulson, Spider-Man, Power-Man & numerous S.H.I.E.L.D Troops attack Scorpio's secret base to steal the Zodiac Key and the new Super-soldier serum being developed there. On mission, Luke Cage discovers that Scorpio had his parents, former S.H.I.E.L.D scientists lead the project. After a lengthy struggle between Power-Man's parents, Spider-Man and Power-Man, Scorpio manages to inject himself with the Super-soldier serum gaining various superhuman powers that are similar to, but are a more advanced version of Power-Man's powers. Power-Man & Spider-Man manage to defeat him, de-power his Power-Scorpio-Man powers and is arrested and taken into custody by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Trivia[]

He is Nick Fury's brother and uses the Scorpio identity like Jake Fury, but his first name Max is from Nick Fury's evil robot duplicate in Secret Wars.
