Scorpion is a minor antagonist in Mortal Kombat 1, and a more malicious counterpart to the other versions of Scorpion, and is an unplayable character in Shang Tsung's chapter.
Among Titan Shang Tsung's forces included a Dark Scorpion from his timeline, seemingly a version of Hanzo Hasashi wholly loyal to both the sorcerer and Quan Chi. He took part in the invasion of Liu Kang’s New Era, fighting alongside a Dark Sub-Zero. Together, they confronted the New Era’s Deadly Alliance and Raiden as the latter worked to destroy the portals and halt the invasion. During the ensuing battle, the invading Scorpion and Sub-Zero were slain by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Later, during the Battle of Armageddon, numerous versions of Scorpion appeared among the Order of Darkness.
Personality[]
Unlike the mainstream incarnations of Scorpion, who are generally morally neutral rather than truly evil, this version of Scorpion is malevolent at his core. Once an honorable, loyal, and protective man, he was tempted by Quan Chi’s invasion and a simple offer: betrayal in exchange for unmatched power. Intrigued by the promise, he willingly forsook everything he once stood for including his own wife and son. Now transformed into a specter, he has become a deranged and remorseless killer—cold, heartless, and consumed by evil. He takes pleasure in spreading death and terror across the realms and carries himself with boundless arrogance, utterly beyond redemption.

The "Order of Darkness" version of Scorpion (Hanzo Hasashi) doesn't have any redeeming qualities, making him more evil than the classic versions of Scorpion. However, the "Invasions" Scorpion is much closer to the original, tragic and noble version of the character due to him losing his wife and son although in the end, he gets a happy ending. He found another Harumi to reunite with after losing her Hanzo.
Scorpion serves as a boss of the third, sixth, seventh, and eighth seasons of Invasions Mode.
