The Scorpions hang out at the Monte Carlo when they aren't slinging chems or getting their heads blown off by the Fiends.
~ Klammath Bob

The Scorpions are a minor faction in Fallout: New Vegas. They are a small raider gang that operates out of the Monte Carlo Suites, they make their money through selling chems. They are enemies of the Fiends.

Background[]

Formed at an unknown date, the Scorpions are a small time raider gang in the Mojave Wasteland. Led by Yvette, the Scorpions spend their days selling chems to unfortunate wastelanders and harassing the town of Westside. Their main hideout is the Monte Carlo Suite, which is in close proximity to Fiend territory. The Scorpions are poorly armed, mostly relying on 10MM Pistols, Submachine Guns and Sawn-Off Shotguns, with one member wielding a Ripper chainsaw. The gang's members all wear the same outfit, the merc cruiser outfit, which serves as the gang's unofficial uniform, their leader Yvette is the one outlier, as she wears a merc charmer outfit.

The gang is very territorial, attacking anyone who approaches the Monte Carlo Suites, whether they be Fiends, Westside Residents or The Courier. They are the second weakest gang in the Mojave, the only faction weaker being the Greasers of the North Vegas sewers.

Trivia[]

  • The Scorpions were originally planned to have a more important role in the game, Yvette would have given the Courier a quest to help obtain a steady supply of ammunition from the quartermaster of Camp McCarran, Daniel Contreras.
  • If the Courier wipes out their base at the Monte Carlo, the Scorpions won't respawn, meaning that they are the only raider gang in New Vegas you are able to completely wipe out.
