Scott Cawthon, also known as S. Cotton, is the main antagonist of the Freddy in Space trilogy, a spin-off series of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.
He is a parody of the franchise's creator of the same name who is stationed in space, constantly clashing with Freddy Fazbear and his team.
Appearance[]
Scott is generally depicted as a caricature of his real-life appearance, but his design varies from game to game.
In FNAF 57: Freddy in Space, Scott appears as a cut-out of his real life head inside a mechanical tank full of red liquid with pincer-like claws attached to its base.
In Freddy in Space 2, Scott appears as a cartoonified version of his form from the previous installment, now attached to a pair of tank tracks and wearing a pair of glasses he wore in his picture as Steve Snodgrass in Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted.
In Freddy in Space 3: Chica in Space, Scott now appears with a full body for the first time. He wears a black spacesuit with blue body armor, spiked black-and-blue ear protectors and a pair of blue shades. He also carries a blue-glowing raygun during his boss battle.
History[]
Scott first appears as the main antagonist of FNAF 57: Freddy in Space, a minigame within the 2016 RPG FNAF World. Upon starting the game, Scott contacts the main protagonist Freddy Fazbear, telling him to go away because he's still working on this game, which isn't due for release until 2030. As Freddy traverses through Scott's lair, Scott sends his minions to stop him and continues to taunt him about how he'll never stop making spin-offs. Eventually, Freddy finds Scott and defeats him, allowing him to unlock Purpleguy as a party member.
Scott reappears as a secret boss in the 2019 game Freddy in Space 2, now named "S. Cotton". He can be found in a secret area in the Lunar Mines level where he explains that he has gained a new body and attempts to kill Freddy and his team again, only to fail.
Scott once again appears as the main antagonist of the 2023 game Freddy in Space 3: Chica in Space. Upon starting the game, Scott (shrouded in shadow) taunts Freddy's team about how they all thought that the game would be a teaser for the then-upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's film before kidnapping every member except for Chica the Chicken. Chica rescues every single team member from each of the game's four stages, leading to them raiding Scott's lair. Not willing to give up any more teasers to the fans, Scott once again tries to kill the team, only to be defeated again. After the battle, Scott finally relents and shows a string of text that leads to an unlisted YouTube teaser video for the film.
Trivia[]
- Scott's boss fight in FNAF 57: Freddy in Space is likely inspired by Mother Brain from Metroid.
