Scrapeface is the main protagonist of the Madness Combat short An Experiment. The test subject in an experiment on what would happen if someone's hands were moved far from their body, Scrapeface mutilated himself by grinding his face against the wall, revealing his skull underneath. Through unknown means, the experiment granted Scrapeface with glitch-based abilities that could warp reality, which he used to kill anyone that got in his way.

Biography[]

The Grunt that would become Scrapeface was first seen being shoved into a test chamber by a pair of A.T.P. Engineers, who proceeded to briefly terrorise him before leaving the room. The grunt made his way toward a dumbwaiter in the corner of the chamber, and placed his hands inside, after being told to press and hold the two buttons inside to activate it.

MC An Experiment - Scrapeface attacks Engineer

Scrapeface in An Experiment, in the process of attacking an unfortunate A.T.P. Engineer.

As the dumbwaiter rose out of the room, the Grunt suddenly rose into the air, then slammed into the floor before repeatedly scraping his head across the wall, giving him the injuries that resulted in his new moniker. Thus, Scrapeface was 'born'. After Scrapeface's hands were reunited with his body, one of the two Engineers was forced into the room by an A.T.P. Soldat outside. The Engineer tried to fight back, knocking Scrapeface back with two punches, but Scrapeface relentlessly closed in while glitching violently and grabbed them by the head. Off-screen, Scrapeface tore the Engineer in half, then broke out of the room while levitating, still carrying the Engineer's bisected body.

Hearing the commotion, the Soldat tried to make his way toward the test chamber's door, but was immobilized and began glitching. Scrapeface then appeared and unleashed his telekinesis on the Soldat, destroying their weapon and sending them flying into the wall, before convulsing violently and launching himself into the ground, grating away the majority of his body as a scientist watched the scene unfold. In an apparent attempt to kill the scientist, Scrapeface's remains shot towards the scientist, but missed, colliding with the wall in a burst of blood. The building then split in half, with its lower portion exploding. This incident was observed by Sanford and Deimos, with the latter remarking "Damn, that's crazy".

Powers and Abilities[]

MC An Experiment - Soldat Glitching

An A.T.P. Soldat that has been immobilized after being subjected to Scrapeface’s glitch-based powers.

Scrapeface's main ability is being able to warp reality by glitching himself and the surrounding environment. This ability manifests as a graphical 'corruption' that warps his appearance, and can inflict great damage on surrounding objects, as seen when it cracked the walls and floors of the test chamber. Scrapeface can also use this ability to immobilize opponents.

Though Scrapeface does not appear to use any physical techniques beyond basic grappling, he is incredibly strong, being able to rip an Engineer in half using his bare hands. He also seems to have some form of telekinesis, as he was able to send the Soldat flying at great speed to kill them without actually touching them.

While Scrapeface is incredibly powerful after transforming into his mutilated state, he is not invulnerable; as futile as it was, the Engineer forced into the test chamber with him was briefly able to stun Scrapeface by punching him, while Scrapeface ultimately destroyed himself by grating away his body against the floor and wall, then colliding with another wall at great speed.
