Scream is a minor antagonist in the 2023 video game, Marvel's Spider-Man 2. She was originally a symbiote created by Venom, who then attached it onto Mary Jane Watson, fusing the two together. Scream would then fight Spider-Man before eventually being defeated and separated both the symbiote and Mary Jane from each other.
Similar to Mary Jane, she is voiced by Laura Bailey, who also provided the voices of Abby Anderson from The Last of Us Part II, Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist, Nadine Ross from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and the Catherine from the titular video game.
Appearance[]
Scream has unique design compared to other symbiotes, looking more feminine in appearance. She is distinctive by having a red and yellow color scheme, in addition to having long hair-like tendrils and white eyes.
Personality[]
Scream appears to be the manifestation of Mary Jane's worst thoughts and frustrations being fully unsuppressed. She is very violent, sadistic, wrathful and hostile, having little to no regard for her surroundings. Being part of the symbiote hive mind created by Venom, she appears to be driven by the instinct of causing destruction.
Much of her wrath comes from how she feels towards Peter, in that she believes Peter cares more about being Spider-Man than her and that he ultimately makes her life miserable to deal with. In contrast to her more ambitious and supportive side earlier on, she feels that much of her dreams have been pushed back aside due to him and that nobody cares for her achievements.
Despite this, a small part of her true self still remained within the symbiote, which Peter was able to use to his advantage of separating the two from each other.
Biography[]
Marvel's Spider-Man 2[]
After being bonded with the symbiote once more, Harry visited May Parker's house in Queens where he held Mary Jane hostage. Peter managed to arrive before Harry could do any real harm to her, but despite his and Mary Jane's protests, Harry refused to take the symbiote off of him. He then transformed into Venom and attempted to attack Peter, only for Mary Jane to jump in the way. Nonetheless, Venom proceeded to drag her and attach a symbiote of her own to her, transforming her into Scream.
Having been fully manifested, Scream proceeded to attack Peter, while Venom left them on their own. Eventually, Peter was able to defeat Scream and managed to get the symbiote off of Mary Jane, causing the now separated symbiote to shrivel away.

- Hive Mind: Like Venom, Scream had access to the symbiotes hive mind, enabling it to communicate with other symbiotes as well as their hosts and through the symbiote, MJ can too.
- Fire Immunity: In contrast to its 616 counterpart, this version of Scream also immune to fire/extreme heat.
