"Yeah, you and whose army?!"
~ Sean's most famous quote as he prepares to attack Billy Mitchell and his aunty Peggy under the orders of his gangland boss Johnny Allen, only to moments later end up getting attacked himself by Peggy's returning sons Phil and Grant - also known as The Mitchell Brothers in their returning episode on October 2005.

Sean is a minor antagonist of the BBC British soap opera television show EastEnders.

He was portrayed by Johnny Harris.

History[]

Nothing is known about Sean other than the fact he is a brute henchman and enforcer who works for gangland boss Johnny Allen in Walford, a fictional borough in East London.

In October 2005, Sean is summoned by Johnny for a meeting at the latter's nightclub called Scarlet's that is based in Walford's market town Albert Square. It is then Johnny assigns Sean for a task; eliminate Johnny's enemy Peggy Mitchell in retribution for turning his daughter Ruby against him by exposing the truth about his gangland reputation to the point of disclosing that he is partially to blame for the deaths of her late sister Scarlett and their late mother Stephanie in an arson attack caused by his gangland rivals over a year ago.

After being given the instructions, Sean assures Johnny that he will get the job done and that nothing will stop him from doing it. This goes against the advice of Johnny's mistress, Tina Stewart, however and she ends up calling Peggy to warn her about Johnny's plan. As this is happening, though, Sean walks up to the square and sees local hardman Dennis Rickman closing up The Queen Victoria public house once all the customers are heading back home.

Once the pub has been closed, Sean decides to make his move and sees Peggy leaving her house after being warned by Tina about Johnny's plans against her. Sean stalks Peggy and intercepts her before revealing himself as Johnny's henchmen, making it clear that he intends to do her harm on his boss' behalf.

Sean then prepares to harm Peggy when her nephew, Billy, arrives in just the nick of time and orders him to back off. Sean is initially unfazed by Billy's threats and prepares to attack him. But in that moment, Peggy's two sons Phil and Grant step out of Billy's car to rush to their mother's defense; the brothers have just returned to the square after Grant reappears to exonerate Phil from prison after the latter was framed for armed robbery by Dennis' illegitimate father Den Watts a few years ago.

Together, Phil and Billy apprehend Sean before Grant proceeds to beat the heavy unconcious. Phil and Grant then toss Sean into a holly bush before escorting their mother back to her house with Billy's help. Later on, Sean awakens and goes back to Johnny's nightclub to inform him on what has happened. Johnny is surprised that his plan had failed and questions Sean about it; Sean recaps that he doesn't know how the men who attacked him are related to Peggy.

It is then Johnny decides to "ask around" to investigate the situation himself and orders Sean to go home. Sean promptly asks about what to do with Peggy afterwards, but Johnny tells him to leave the matter for now and go home. Sean complies and leaves Johnny's nightclub to head back home; Sean is never seen on the square again.

Trivia[]

  • He made a total of just 2 appearences throughout his time on the show, although this was mainly impactful for the iconic return of the Mitchell Brothers back in October 2005 in the end.
