Sebastian Moran is the secondary antagonist of the 2011 film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the second installment in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes film series. Moran has served as one of best marksman in British army, but was dishonorably discharged. After that, he went on to be a mercenary working for Moriarty who orders him to assassinate anyone for his plans or failed their missions.
He is portrayed by Paul Anderson.
Biography[]
Sebastian Moran originally served in the British Army, eventually reaching the rank of colonel and serving in the Second Anglo-Afghan War. He was renowned as the best sniper in the British Army. After the war, he was discharged dishonorably and later became a hitman for hire. In time, Professor James Moriarty would later employ him to do his dirty work by undertaking several assassinations, which includes Alfred Meinhard, a Germanbusinessman and arms manufacturer; Dr Karl Hoffmanstahl, a German doctor on the forefront of a new medical method. In Heilbronn, he nearly killed Dr Watson twice, missing the first time in a cat-and-mouse battle where Watson used a howitzer and the second time in the forests, nearly hitting Watson as well; however, Watson would wound Moran with a rifle shot, but Moran survived and shot one of his associates. He also killed René Heron after the former failed to kill the German chancellor at the Reichenbach peace conference.

- Combat Skills: Having served in the British Army, Moran had extensive combat abilities and training.
- Marksmanship: He is one of the best snipers in the world, among only 6 men in Europe to be able to take a confirmed kill from 650m away.
- Pain Tolerance: His training has also improved his endurance, as he is able to shoot a rifle to kill a moving person despite being wounded himself.
- Cultural Intuition: He is also cultured and educated, appreciates the opera of Don Giovanni and regrets missing the opera as he was looking forward to it. He also speaks fluent German and French.
