Selene Gallio is a major antagonist in Wolverine and the X-Men, being one of the members of the Inner Circle looking to obtain the power of the Phoenix for their own goals.

She was voiced by April Stewart who also voiced Zarda in Avengers Assemble.

Biography[]

Selene Gallio is one of the members of the Inner Circle, who looked to get the power of the Phoenix to take over the world for themselves, searching in history about the multiple hosts to get to predict who could be the next telepath that would become host of the Phoenix.

Having a pretty obvious dislike for Emma Frost for having failed in her mission to capture Jean Grey, Selene regularly verbally abuses her for her failure even after she got to capture Jean Grey. Just as the rest of the members, Selene refused to destroy the Phoenix Force instead of using it for their own goals, even after getting to know that it would destroy the world. Seeing that Emma betrayed them to save Jean with help of Cyclops, Selene attacked him and had him hostage to make Emma surrender, threatening to drain his life force energy slowly, just to satisfy her own sadism.

Getting to free the Phoenix Force to be absorbed by the Stepford Cuckoo, Selene was completely on board to get Genosha be destroyed by it and killing the entirety of the X-Men, which got her to fight against Emma before being defeated by her next to Sebastian Shaw.

Age of Apocalypse[]

Selene was one of the obscure characters to return in the second season of Wolverine and the X-Men, having a more supportive role.

In the years following the failure to capture the Phoenix, Selene eventually left the Inner Circle, and met with Apocalypse, who intrigued by her vampiric abilities, allowed her to join his efforts and possibly amplified her powers. She'd joined Cyclops's Pale Rider branch. In several scripts of season 2, featured Selene along with Stepford Cuckoos (at least three of them) tried to fight Xavier, with the latter nearly succeeded in draining his life essence much like she did to Cyclops in Season 1. However he would escape, later in another episode, Selene and Cyclops would argue with another, when often trying to fight the X-Men.
