~ Seluvis |
Perceptor Seluvis is a minor antagonist in the 2022 RPG-action video game Elden Ring. He is a preceptor in sorcery who serves Ranni the Witch.
He is voiced by Charles Dale who also voiced Pidia in the same game.
Personality[]
Seluvis is known to be pompous in personality and speaks in an air of superiority. He is shown to be hostile towards the Tarnished and would openly express his disdain of them. Though he serves Ranni the Witch, he is secretly treacherous as he seeks to make her a puppet for his own wicked reason of creating the finest puppet ever crafted. Seluvis has a hobby of turning other people into puppets and is also callous and indifferent towards their suffering.
Biography[]
In the past, Seluvis had a friendship with Tarnished leader Gideon Ofnir but they parted ways due to Gideon's friend and critique Dolores, who is also a Tarnished. Seluvis was also familiar with the Glintstone sorceress Sellen, who is notoriously known as the Graven Witch, who owes him a favor for assisting him when she was expelled from the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Seluvis is known to be a collector of "puppets", in which he transforms living beings into thralls through the usage of a special potion while he stored their physical bodies in a hidden cellar in the towers of the Three Sisters.
Elden Ring[]
Seluvis is first encountered in a spectral form in Ranni's Rise, where he becomes acquainted with the Tarnished. Though he expresses hostility towards them, he nonetheless suggests that they pay him a visit in Seluvis' Rise, which is close to Ranni's Rise, at the Three Sisters. There in his tower, he becomes acquainted with them. He gives the Tarnished the task of giving his potion to Nepheli Loux. If they accepted the task, he will give them the potion they will need. What happens next in Seluvis' quest line depends on the player's choice; if they administer the potion on Nepheli, she will drink it, causing her to be put into a deep slumber, becoming a puppet in the process. Her body would then be moved into the basement of Seluvis' Rise.
However, in an alternate move, the Tarnished can give Seluvis' potion to Gideon Ofnir, who would then discard it and he would give the Tarnished the suggestion of lying to Seluvis that they gave the potion to Nepheli Loux. Whether or not the Tarnished gave the potion to the latter or simply lying to Seluvis, they can unlock his shop after exhausting all his dialogue, allowing them to purchase items from him. While the player can administer Selluvis' potion to Nepheli they also have the choice of giving it to the Dung Eater, which will cause him to become a puppet in place of Nepheli Loux.
Seluvis was then confronted over his puppet collection and he will give the Tarnished the offer of making them their own puppet in exchange for Starlight Shards. If its accepted he will then give the Tarnished another task, where their objective is to retrieve Amber Starlight, which Seluvis will brew into a small flask of Amber Draught, which is intended to turn Ranni into the finest puppet ever created. Unfortunately for Seluvis, however, his treacherous scheme is in vain as Ranni saw through his betrayal and will angrily force the Tarnished to leave her and even threaten to kill them if they won't do so.
Whether or not the Tarnished aids Seluvis in his devious plot, he will still be killed, as his body can be found in a kneeling position as his puppets are. If his body is looted, then the Tarnished will receive the full Perceptor's Set.
