Set is the overarching antagonist of the manga/anime series Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, serving as a major character of the first half and one of the main antagonists (along with Fenrir) of the second half.
He is voiced by Takaya Kuroda in the Japanese version of the anime, who also voiced Risotto Nero in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, Yaiba of Darkness in GoGo Sentai Boukenger, Samejima in Inuyashiki, Ivan the Terrible in Fate/Grand Order, Mordegon in Dragon Quest XI, Dharak in Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders, Rei Amayado in Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle, Tartarus in Dragalia Lost, Albinoleo Imagin in Kamen Rider Den-O, Roidmude 5886 in Kamen Rider Drive Saga: Kamen Rider Heart, Eriedrone in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger, Lord Darcia III in Wolf's Rain, Masashi Miyamoto in Btooom!, Shadon in Mashin Sentai Kiramager, and Debo Honenukky in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger and as child, he is voiced by Risae Matsuda, who also voiced Mimiko Hasaba in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Minael in Magical Girl Raising Project. He was voiced by Sean Letourneau and as child, he is voiced by Tristan Bonner in the English version of the anime.
He is played by Yūsuke Yata in 2024 stage adaptation.

Set have an appearance of black and white dog-like and white blank eyes. He wears a formal attire and a white with a gold cape.

Background[]
Set was born to his mother who is the concubine and an unknown father, then the former king of Ozmargo, who declared Set to be his son. When Set was a child, his mother told him that he has blood of royalty within him and that by rights, it should be him who stands beside the king and should've have become the next king, which he believes that he is the son of former King. She apologizes to him that it was the only form she could give him and that she could not bear him in the image of the Royal tribe.
Unbeknownst to Set, the former king was infertile and his mother signed a fake certificate of authenticity by Head Oracle Capel, which means Set was not an official member of the royal bloodline of Ozmargo. This, combined with Set's insecurities of himself and jealousy toward Leonhart, led Set to a wrongful belief that he was the rightful heir to the throne. Years later into the present, Set learned of Head Oracle Capel's existence and used all sorts of methods, attempting to draw the secret out from him.
Plot[]
Set makes his first appearance when Leonhart, Anubis and Senate Speakers having a discussion about Sariphi's next task and the assassins who tried to shot arrow at Bennu (the Phoenix), Set have a report about that assassins taken their own lives and found no indication of any mastermind before their crimes and assumes that the pair of assassins snuck in to burgle the Palace, and claim which he believes that they only fired instinctively upon seeing seeing a human (Sariphi) and kill themselves. He may have been too harsh in his questioning of treasonous individuals which upset Leonhart about the killing.
After Fenrir's death, Set explores the forbidden library he cannot achieve his goal by relying on others, he knew that he must find it himself in the forbidden library. Set believes there are grave secrets regarding the birth record of the current king, most likely that its exposure might upset everything, if he can bring it to light destined to be realized.
Anubis caught Set at the forbidden library, the only royalty and select oracles are permitted to enter and noticed book that Anubis hold that he lost it on the other day, Set claims to be of royal blood and learned Leonhart's dark secret.
When Leonhart make a formal announcement to the people about the peace treaty with Yoana and Sariphi's existence, Set uses a spell to clear the miasma away and the people and Anubis are shocked when Leonhart reverts to his human form before their eyes.
After Sariphi and Leonhart makes an escape after his secret is revealed, Anubis looks for Set and tells what he have done to his king and says Anubis is keen-eyed and did used a sealed forbidden art, have done nothing to Leonhart. Set confirmed that he cleared the miasma that cover temporarily, recreated the conditions of a Night of Revelation and is right that Leonhart has not disclosed and hides himself away during the Night of Revelation and says to Anubis that he viewed it with his own eyes; a reality that is neither dream or illusion, it is the truth.
Set (who appointed himself as acting king) made a pubic appearance to make announcement to the peoples and told that he avoid the public eye and imagine of many of beasts are unfamiliar with him because he alone have an accurate grasp of current situation, tells peoples to confirmed that the human is indeed their king and tell that Leonhart's bloods as beast and human never mingle, remain divided in his body as separate existence; when placed in the environment free of miasma, his magic weakens considerably and can't no longer maintain his beast form and the problem is that no proof that previous King had congress with a human beasts and the same is true about the previous Queen and tells them that whom they lauded as their king has no blood from legitimate royal line and is the imposter king to planned to bring a human queen into royal family and usurped Ozmargo with human blood, Leonhart is not their king and an traitor who postured as the King of Beast in an attempt to defile nation and the enemy to all of Beast. Then he shall issue his first order as acting king; to find pretender who claimed to be royalty and the human girl who aided his flight, then capture them without a delay.
Jormungand tells Set what he is playing at asks why did he throw the kingdom into the disarray without proof, Set have proof that there is no records attesting to individual being a royal and proof of his pedigree, he is extremely rare case; his mother's species and not the Royal Tribe's proved dominant, it prevented him from taking a public role and like other royals, his birth was recorded. Jormungand asks Set if he means that he alone bear royal blood and its right to be king, Set says that Jormungand is open-minded. Jormungand asks Anubis that means Set is the king Anubis serve and tells Anubis to answer him, Anubis answers his question that his position has not changed, he is "Anubis" and he serve the "true king" and then Jormungand punched Anubis, tells him if it is his way, but Jormungand shall take his different path, he care not for pedigree nor species and Leonhart is the only king he serve and will guard his life. Then Set thought so that Jormungand will side with Leonhart, he already assumed that he would and tells Guards that Jormungand is traitor and seize him.
When Leonhart and Jormungand return to Ozmargo, Set is glad that Leonhart have returned and asks that he refrain from any more wayward behavior in his palace and called him a false king. Set says to Leonhart and Jormungand are traitors, there is no need to give them a trial, used a magic on Leonhart, Jormungand and then he shall mete out their punishment. When the spell on Head Oracle Capel is undone, Set feels that the spell binding came undone, says that a curse that should have held as long it kept its secret and wonder if somebody did manage to loosen its tongue before he did and no spell or torture had any effect on it, if it did divulge the secret voluntarily to somebody but Set don't know the answers. Set tells Anubis to prepare his men at once and have allowed theirselves to be distracted, appear that Sariphi had slipped in along with her bodyguard have the palace searched at once. Anubis tells Set that it is good chance, tells Set to allow him to prove his loyalty that he shall drag Sariphi into the presence of the King, Set allows it and then Leonhart breaks out from magic spell but Set used magic on Leonhart and tells him that he would suggest that he do not push himself overmuch to feel more pain and says humans are tragic creatures and the girl must be precious to him, Set shall allow Leonhart to be buried together. Set tortures Leonhart in the view of kingdom, and tells him that he need not to worry for the future, he shall take full responsibility for restoring the kingdom to its proper state; a kingdom whose species are properly segregated based on clear class system, where the wheat and chaff were mingled to cover the disgrace of Leonhart's blood will be rebuilt as the orderly world it was. Leonhart tells Set that his goal was not to rebuild a kingdom where different species dwelled in the same place; it was a kingdom that anyone could live as they were, no one choose their birth and no matter species all should be able to live proudly without fear of their pride being trampled upon, it must be a place where it is possible, says it's true that he may not be qualified to rule, it's his duty to stop Set until he have done and is still the King of kingdom, Set used the magic on Leonhart to hurt him and mocks him that he have no such thing. Set told Leonhart that Leonhart's duty is to pay the price for deceiving them by continuing to pose as a false king, once he have put an end to Leonhart and Sariphi and he shall be able to take pride in himself for the first time. When Anubis bring Sariphi over and Set orders him to kill her in front of Leonhart, Anubis stabs Set instead, affirming his loyalty to Leonhart only and Set wounds him in retaliation, but Galois, Joz and their forces arrive to defend Leonhart and the others. Set is infuriated when messengers say that Sarbul and Maasya have rejected his rule. When Sariphi calls Set unworthy to be king, he angrily blasts her into the sky and Leonhart leaps to catch her with his Holy Beast, Gwiber just as he returns to beast form.
Set claims Leonhart that returning to beast form changes nothing as everyone already knows his truth, but Leonhart tells Set that he is unworthy because he divided the people instead of protecting them. In the furious, Set roars that his mother died penniless despite birthing a prince and attacks with magic and Leonhart blocks his spells. The stone Capel gave Sariphi plays a recording that reveals the previous king was sterile and Set's father was someone random which shocks Set, he couldn't accept to believe he is not royalty, then Set attempts a big spell, but his body reaches its limits, breaks down.
