The Seven Dark Spears are a group of alien ninjas who serve as the lead commanders of the Jakanja and the secondary antagonists of Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger.
History[]
The Seven Dark Spears were formed by Tau Zant from seven powerful ninjas he recruited across the cosmos.
At the time of Jakanja's attack on Earth, five of the Seven Dark Spears were aboard the Parasite Fortress Centipede while Satarakura and Sandaaru were carrying out missions for Tau Zant elsewhere. Sargain served as their unofficial leader at this point and, along with Chuuzubo, formulated many schemes to defeat the Hurricanegers and corrode the planet in preparation for "It"'s invocation.
Following Chuuzubo's demise, Tau Zant summoned Satarakura to the Centipede to replace him. Satarakura hatched several schemes to destroy the Hurricanegers and Gouraigers, but the Gouraigers were able to thwart each one.
Not long after Manmaruba's demise, the final member of the Seven Dark Spears arrived on Centipede, Sandaaru, bringing with him one of the two artifacts Jakanja needed for "It", the Raging Arrow. Sandaaru took command of the Seven Dark Spears and was able to persuade them to work together against the unified Ninja Sentai. Sargain quickly developed a rivalry with Sandaaru, only to be executed by him on Tau Zant's orders. Sandaaru would later dispose of Satarakura as well and leave him for dead against Shurikenger.
However, Sandaaru anticipated that Tau Zant would eventually dispose of him as well. After Tau Zant assumed his Ultimate Form and began the ritual to invoke "It", Sandaaru backstabbed his boss to take control of the ritual. The other two remaining Dark Spears, Furabiijo and Wendinu, promptly agreed to work under him but were defeated soon after by the Hurricanegers and Gouraigers. Sandaaru would be destroyed when the Gouraigers sacrificed Gouraijin to blow him up.
The Seven Dark Spears were later all revived together by the Evil Will to take on the Hurricanegers one last time. After the Gouraigers revealed themselves to be alive and showed up to assist, the two ninja teams were able to defeat the Seven Dark Spears once more.
Although their comrades were dead, Furabiijo and Wendinu managed to survive, albeit having been sent to Dino Earth by the Hurricanegers' finisher.
