Shadow is one of the antagonists of Mega Man X: Command Mission, a Maverick who faked to be a Maverick Hunter in order to attack X and Zero.
He first appeared as Maverick Hunter in Giga City joining the hunters X and Zero in their quest. The three were sent to infiltrate the Lagrano Ruins, and when they confronted Epsilon atop the ruins, he betrayed X and Zero and joins the Rebellion Army.
Later, he encountered X and his companions in the Gimialla Mines, where he revealed the existence of the Supra-Force Metal, after the conversation he attacked the party, but he was defeated and was ultimately destroyed by Spider after Zero's intervention.
Personality[]
During most of Chapter 1 at the Lagrano Ruins, Shadow initially appeared to be a caring teammate, displaying concern towards X and Zero after splitting up with them. It wasn't until meeting Epsilon on the top floor that he began to show his true colors: Shadow is very deceitful, ambitious, and power-hungry, as he had no problem betraying X and Zero and joined the Rebellion Army to obtain the Supra-Force Metal.
Shadow is somewhat sadistic and violent, frequently making references to cutting people up to pieces while eliciting an insane grin.
After obtaining a piece of the Supra-Force Metal in the Gimialla Mines; Shadow's personality becomes very insane, to the point of him willing to outright kill his enemies, which was shown as he makes an attempt at Zero's life with his Pulverizer Cannon before his destruction.
Shadow appears to highly respect Epsilon, and gets irate whenever X accuses him of being a Maverick, he also appears to be trying to defend the Supra-Force Metal from the Maverick Hunters.
He is also easily horrified when he found out Zero survived his original attack.

- Shadow is extremely similar to the Mega Man X4 antagonist Double.
- Shadow's face prior to his betrayal appears calm and collected, but changes to wide-eyed and crazed for all appearance afterward. When he found out Zero survived, Shadow becomes paranoid.
