The demons of the other world were beyond them, they rushed upon me, tearing my flesh, draining my soul, turning me into a Shadow.
~ Shadow revealing that the Demons were the ones who reduced him to a mere shadow.

The Shadow Demons are major antagonists in the Shadow Fight franchise. They are humanoid demons with pupils eyes, who serve as the enforcers of the intergalactic warlord Titan. Each of the demons serve as the main antagonists of each chapter in the game.

Biography[]

Originally human beings, they were turned into humanoid demons by Titan and has served him in the Shadow World since then, albeit in great fear of his power and influence. After being imprisoned for some time in the Shadow World, they were freed from their confinement when Shadow opened the Gates the Shadows, which served as a gateway to the Shadow World, while seeking a "worthy battle".

Ever since then, Shadow, now a silhouette of his former self, and aided by May, his Sensei, and Sly, sought to defeat the demons, claim their seals and use them to close the Gates of Shadows, all in hopes of undoing his mistake, though he won't be able to reclaim his physical body and soul, which he lost to the Demons. Shadow managed to defeat them one-by-one, claiming each of their seals before returning to the Gates of the Shadows. However, he was confronted by all the six demons, who engaged him in a final showdown, but were ultimately defeated.

Unfortunately, just as Shadow used the seals to close the gates, May was pulled in right before the gates fully closed. Because of this, Shadow was forced to once again engage the demons in battle in order to break their seals, allowing him to re-open the Gates of Shadows. When they learned of this, the Demons didn't take this too kindly, as they fearfully warned Shadow of Titan's power and that he doomed them all.

Many years after Titan's demise, Shadow Energy returned mysteriously to the world, which has now changed and is under the influence of three prominent factions, known as the Legion, the Heralds, and the Dynasty. The Demons are still active and few of them have infiltrated the upper echelons of the societies of the three factions, such as Widow, who runs a fabric shop in the Dynasty capital which is famous all over the world, and Lynx is still running the Order, while Butcher, though active, is present within the Void.

Eventually, the Demons come under the service of Shadow's Descendant, who is known as the Master of Worlds and seeks to become Titan's successor. The Demons await his return, as he is now the Master of the Shadow World and thus seeks to restore it. Lynx and Butcher forge an alliance with the Ancients on behalf of the Demons against the Collector of the Void, as the Descendant seeks to free it. They also reveal that all Shadow Demons are returning back to the Shadow World as the Master has summoned them.

Demons[]

Lynx[]

Lynx is the first of the demons to be encountered by Shadow and is the leader of The Order. He bears a strong resemblance to that of a stereotypical ninja and his main weapons are his claws, which, along with his ranged weapons, is enchanted with Time Bomb and Poison. In addition, Lynx has the ability to turn invisible via a smoke bomb.

Hermit[]

The second demon to be encountered by Shadow and the least evil out of all of them. Hermit is an old, wise and powerful (but vicious) martial arts teacher, who built his own fighting school after destroying all other schools in a local town. Hermit is also a master of Magic, which is his greatest secret, which makes it feared but also sought out by many. Hermit's appearance is that of a stereotypical sensei, which includes a long white facial beard and a straw conical hat. His main weapons are a pair of Chinese swords or jiad swords.

Butcher[]

Butcher is a demon and also the third to be encountered by Shadow. He is an aggressive and power-hungry bandit who has self-grandeurs, as he sees himself as a savior and a teacher through his teachings of committing violence and bloodshed. Butcher is notoriously known for kidnapping children and then raising, training, and brainwashing them into becoming members of his outlaw gang. Butcher's appearance is similarly to that of a sumo wrestler and he wields two big cleaving knives as his weapons.

Wasp[]

A demon and the fourth to be encountered. She is the daughter of a pirate king who was betrayed by Wasp, who was motivated by the demon Widow in order to prove that women also have the right rule. Wasp is the leader of her crew of pirates, however, while only two are completely loyal to her cause, three crew members were distrustful of Wasp and formed an insurgency organization to oppose her. Wasp wields a green naginata as her weapon and she has the secret ability to jump off the edges of the fighting field and then swoop in with wasp wings to attack her opponent, dealing a huge amount of damage.

Widow[]

Widow is the fifth demon to be encountered and fought and she bears a close resemblance to a Maiko Geisha, minus a few exceptions. While being a formidable warrior, Widow can use her magic to charm others, but only if they are weak-willed. Those that lay eyes on her will be left mesmerized and enthralled by her beauty, becoming her lapdogs in the process and will do anything to earn her appreciation, though she nonetheless remain cold-hearted towards them.

While most of Widow's bodyguards were charmed, Puma, her only female bodyguard, is the only one who wasn't, as she willingly aided Widow in achieving her goals. In battle, Widow wields two fans as her weapons and are enchanted with Lifesteal. She also has the ability to teleport and attack from behind. Furthermore, her armor is enchanted with Regeneration.

Shogun[]

He is the sixth and final demon and is the tyrannical ruler of Ivory City, which is located near the Gates of Shadows. Originally a servant of the former ruler of the city, Prince, after seeing the latter's incompetence, which is what led Ivory City to the brink of ruin, Shogun masterminded the Prince's assassination without anyone noticing and then seize power for himself. Though Shogun's reign allowed Ivory City to become more stronger and powerful, however, his rule is hinted to be despotic.

Shogun's appearance is that of a stereotypical samurai warrior with a face mask that completely covers his face. He wields a pair of katanas called a Daisho as his main weapon. His special ability is summoning some of his bodyguards to attack Shadow at random intervals before leaving. While summoned, they cannot be attacked and their attacks cannot be blocked, but they can be avoided.

Trivia[]

  • As revealed in the recent Q&A session by Nekki for Shadow Fight 3, Shadow Demons cannot become humans again. They can willingly give up most of their powers using an extremely difficult technique, but these powers will still affect them regardless.
  • According to Galen, one of the Three Arrows of the Dynasty, a Shadow Demon is actually the product of a perfect symbiotic relationship between a human and shadow energy.
