Shadow Weaver, formerly known as Light Spinner, is a major antagonist turned supporting protagonist of the 2018 Netflix original series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
She is an evil sorceress and the second-in-command of the Horde. She was once a respected teacher in the magical kingdom of Mystacor and was the mentor of Micah, the future king of Bright Moon. During an accident involving dark magic, she was corrupted and transformed into a magical parasite. After this, she turned traitor and joined the Horde, eventually becoming Hordak's second-in-command. She was also the adopted mother of Adora and Catra, the latter of whom she physically and emotionally abused. After Adora defected to the Rebellion, she became bent on capturing Adora at any cost.
Her single-minded obsession with Adora led to the Horde experiencing several defeats, leading Hordak to eventually promote Catra as his new second-in-command and imprison Shadow Weaver in the Fright Zone's prisons. However, she later escaped and defected to the Rebellion.
She is the secondary antagonist of the first season, the tritagonist of the second season, and a supporting protagonist for the third and fourth seasons. She is voiced by Lorraine Toussaint.
Personality
Shadow Weaver is a domineering, cruel, and extremely manipulative. Even before transforming into a magic parasite, she was shown to attach herself to individuals who possessed great magical power, such as Micah, Adora, and Glimmer. She was extremely protective and affectionate of her adopted daughter Adora. At the same time, she was abusive and discouraging to her other ward, Catra.

Powers and Abilities
As Light Spinner, she was considered one of the most powerful sorceresses in all of Mystacor. Her skill and knowledge in magic are shown to outshine that of Castaspella, the current ruler of Mystacor. During her time in Hordak's service, Shadow Weaver had access to the Black Garnet, one of Etheria's elemental runestones. With the Garnet, she greatly enhanced her powers.
