~ Shady mole's first line of dialogue. |
Shady Mole is a minor antagonist in the Headspace segments of Omori. He is a sprout mole who claims to be trustworthy, but many of his actions cast a very different light on him.
Appearance[]
Shady Mole has the overall same appearance as most other sprout moles, having a light-brown, somewhat tear-shaped body with two feet and a stem with two leaves on top. Shady Mole, however, wears a distinctive purple eye mask and keeps a knife to his side by the eye mask.
Biography[]
Shady Mole overhears Pessi's conversation with Omori and his friends about his missing "thing". When the group interacts with him afterwards, he states that he could help them, but tells them that they need to bring him the Better Exhaustion Destroyer (The B.E.D. for short), a device being created by the mayor of Sprout Mole Village to increase the productivity of workers. Aubrey points out how untrustworthy Shady Mole seems, but the group finds the B.E.D. for him anyways. When the group brings him the B.E.D., he reveals that he noticed a sprout mole with a big pink bow take Pessi's "thing" from his pocket. The group identifies this as Rosa, and ask her to give it to them. When the sprout mole refuses, the group returns to Shady Mole, who gives them some literal blackmail, and instructs them to show it to Rosa.
After Omori and friends defeat Mr. Jawsum, they can find Shady Mole near the entrance of the Last resort. If the group interacts with him, he will tell them that Clams (the currency of Headspace) will soon be made useless and replaced with "Clems". He states that he has some of these "Clems" in his possession, and offers to give them to the group in exchange for all of their Clams. Aubrey mentions how this goes beyond shady and untrustworthy, but if they decide to give the sprout mole their Clams regardless, he thanks them and gives them a single "Clem" before running off.
The group can find him in what seems to be his hideout in a cave. When they interact with Shady Mole, he will become shocked that the party found him and attacks them. He throws everything he has at them during the fight, but he is ultimately defeated and seemingly killed as Omori and friends recollect their Clams.
