“ | I'm sorry. Are you suggesting some cowardly savage is a superior commander to me, the next king of Almyra? | „ |
~ Shahid upon being warned of Holst's might. |
“ | You swine... turn that loathsome face from my sight! In every way, you remind me of my wretch of a brother! I will be the end of you one day, I promise you that! | „ |
~ Shahid to Claude after being defeated for the first time, not realizing he and Khalid are one and the same. |
Shahid is a major antagonist in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, being one of the two main antagonists (alongside Rhea) of the Golden Wildfire route. Shahid is the prince of Almyra, a nation near Fódlan that's is known for their love of warfare, and the half-brother of Claude von Riegan.
He was voiced by Souma Saito in Japanese and Ryan Colt Levy in English.
Appearance[]
Shahid has a similar appearance to his half-brother Claude, possessing tanned skin, short, black hair, and green eyes. For clothing, he wears a golden headband, pale green robes with orange-red highlights, a short cape with a large collar and a orange-red interior, golden shoulderpads, green, poofy pants, golden boots, and a orange-red and brown belt he attaches his sword to.
Biography[]
Shahid first appears in the game's third chapter, "The Battle for the Locket". With conflict arising within both the Adrestian Empire and the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, Shahid siezes the opportunity to launch an invasion of the Leicester Alliance through Fódlan's Throat. During this invasion, Shahid is seen arguing with his subordinate, General Nader. Ignoring his warnings of Holst's strength, he sends his men out to storm the keep of Fódlan's Locket, who alert them to the arrival of the Golden Deer. In the ensuing clash, Shahid comes to blows with the Golden Deer's own commander, Claude. In their fight, the prince remarked of Claude reminding him physically of his brother Khalid, not recognizing that they were one and the same. The battle concluded with the Golden Deer pushing back the Almyran forces, with Claude allowing Shahid to escape due to his noble status. Swearing revenge, Shahid then flees the scene.
Shahid is briefly seen in the seventh chapter, "A Contest of Beasts". Here, Shahid is seen preparing his army to once again attempt to take over Fódlan's Locket, only with a significantly larger force. As the alliance fights against Count Bergliez's forces at Gronder Field, words of the ongoing Almyran invasion forces the heroes to call off their strike, racing towards the fortress to take down Shahid once more.
In the following chapter, "What Makes a King", Shahid is first seen marveling at his army's size, before questioning the location of his brother. The second battle over Fódlan's Locket commences with both alliances and the Almyran army charging into battle. Following Nader's defection, an angered Shahid orders his forces to retreat. However, their escape attempt was met with their forces being cut off, with Claude free to approach his brother. Realizing his identity as his plans crumble, an order to surrender is met with Shahid throwing his sword at his direction, only for his desperate attack to be blocked by Shez. Shez offers to kill Shahid in Calude's place, but unwilling to see his brother die at his friend's hands, Claude somberly chooses to fire an arrow at his brother. Struck in the chest, Shahid is knocked off the nearby cliff face, plummeting to his demise.
