~ Shaira's final words as she is trapped in the glass box of doom for the rest of her life |
Shaira Lozano-Manansala is the main antagonist of the GMA Drama Series Asawa ng Asawa Ko (internationally known in English as My Husband's Wife). she was originally Cristy's friend who attended her and Jordan's wedding, until everything went south when a group under the name Kalasag takes Cristy away from Jordan. with her gone, Shaira was the only other option Jordan could marry. but when she found out that Cristy is actually alive, she would stop at absolutely nothing to make sure that Jordan will belong to Shaira, and Shaira only. Unfortunately, however, it wouldn't last for long.
she is portrayed by Liezel Lopez. who also played Zandra in Voltes V: Legacy.
Overview[]
Shaira starts off as Jordan’s devoted friend, stepping in when Cristy is presumed dead and even becoming his legal wife. But beneath her supportive exterior, she's a master manipulator. After Cristy returns, Shaira—driven by jealousy and desperation—escalates her villainy in a chilling series of moves:
- Survives a murder attempt and plays Pressumed Dead: When Hannah fires at Shaira as she flees in a motorboat, Shaira somehow escapes death thanks to a man named Franco, emerging more dangerous than ever.
- Kidnaps two children: She orchestrates the abduction of Tori (Cristy’s daughter) and Billie (Hannah’s child), keeping them captive and tormenting them emotionally—a terrifying act showcasing how low she’ll go.
- Betrays her own ally: In a shocking twist, Shaira pushes Franco (her former partner-in-crime) off a cliff after he let Cristy, Jordan, Hannah and Leon escape with their children Shaira kidnaped, confirming she’s willing to eliminate anyone who stands in her way or fails her.
- Crafts false evidence and lies: On multiple occasions, she plants incriminating clues framing Cristy as unstable or violent—manipulating Jordan and shifting suspicion away from herself.
- Gaslights Jordan and Cristy: She engineers elaborate schemes to make Jordan doubt his first wife’s motives and mental state, ensuring he remains loyal to her emotionally and legally.
- Sabotages Cristy’s relationships: From interfering in heartfelt family reunions to staging confrontations that destroy trust, Shaira systematically isolates Cristy.
- Utilizes her position as mother figure: She manipulates Tori, Cristy’s daughter, by feigning affection and using the child as a pawn to poison Jordan’s feelings toward Cristy.
- Blocks Cristy’s comeback: Whenever Cristy tries to reclaim her life, with legal threats or public apologies, Shaira uses her influence and deceit to undermine those efforts, keeping herself firmly in power.
By the series finale, all of her machinations culminate in a poetic justice of sorts: Shaira awakens inside an unbreakable glass prison—a literal and symbolic cage of her own making, reflecting her self‑destructive obsession with control.
