Biography[]
Some time in the past, Sham would join the Black Cat Pirates and over time he would meet Buchi, after some time they would join together to form the Nyaban Brothers, eventually rising to becoming officers of the pirate crew. Collectively, Buchi and Sham served as the ship’s main protectors. Over time, they earned a reputation for their unique fighting style and were involved in numerous high-stakes encounters.
A few years before the planned invasion of Syrup Village, they sailed alongside their captain, Kuro, to intercept a Marine ship—only to discover that Kuro had already eliminated almost everyone on board. Later, during a battle against Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro as the Black Cat Pirates attempted to escape Syrup Village, their captain’s orders forced them into combat. Initially reluctant and complaining about the odds, both Sham and Buchi eventually revealed their true capabilities. Sham first feigned cowardice before launching a surprise attack on Zoro, while Buchi followed with his signature aerial strike. The two then coordinated a joint assault using their combined Neko-Yanagi Daikoshin technique.
Their assault was interrupted when their former captain, Kuro, reappeared and berated the crew as useless. Angered by his insults and questioning his leadership, the Nyaban Brothers boldly challenged Kuro—only to be caught off guard when he swiftly countered by restraining them with his cat claws and issuing a dire ultimatum: defeat Zoro within five minutes or face death. Confident that Zoro was no match for them even with three swords, the brothers attacked in unison, only to be cut down by Zoro’s powerful Tora Gari. In the ensuing melee, Sham was left unconscious and Buchi, although temporarily revived with hypnotic aid from their crewmate Jango, was ultimately overpowered by Zoro’s relentless strikes.
Following their defeat, both injured Nyaban Brothers were carried back to their ship, the Bezan Black, as the remnants of their crew sailed away, marking the end of a fierce and turbulent chapter in their pirate lives.
